Rolling Stone SHOULD cease publication in 07 when it turns 40 because it's a worthless joke these days despite having the Stones & Paul McCartney on the cover this year like days of old when it meant something.

Rolling Stone has been irrelevant since the early 80s, when it changed from a music newspaper with some advertising, to an advertising rag with some occasional music news.

FUCK ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE!

THEY SUCK FUCKING ASS!!!

I hate Rolling Stone, even though I'm a subscriber. (I got 1 of those lifetime gift subscriptions a couple of years ago.)

I much prefer Classick Rock and Uncut magazine. Leave it to the brits to come up with interesting music mags.

R.S (I can't bother to write the full name, related to blues history, that they've spoilt for so long) is not even worth bog paper!

I shall be the dissenting opinion here.........

I still subscribe / read Rolling Stone regularly.

Is it the always grate? NO

Is it always right? NO

Does it suck donkey ass at times? YES

But, it's a legend . It brought us many fine writers, and included the great Hunter S. Thompson.

Last month's ish included THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WAR, which was a fantastic article.

Look, just like there's many better rags to come along in the wake of Playboy, there's no touching their interviews, jokes, or cartoons.

There will ALWAYS be a place on MY coffeetable for RS.....regardless of what trampy flavor-of-the-week-cunt on the cover.

Just because they're no longer cutting edge, or at the top of their game, to slag them off and NEVER read them is a mistake......and your LOSS

Out.

I read it on occasion, I love the articles on Hendrix and other legends. 2 things i'd like see stop though, 1. They need to quit the on sided politics, Yes I get it you hate Bush, Move on and discuss both sides equally (Yes I believe the NeoCons deserve to express there views.). 2. They need to quit featuring Hip-hop/pop artists on the covers. REAL artist deserve to be on the cover, not these people. Other than that and a couple of list I truly despise RS Is an alright Magazine in my opinio.

Rolling Stones best stuff (mag and the band) are way behind them.

Mag was of use up until about 1984 or so (just like Van Halen). After that, they began flogging whatever the flavor of the month was in between articles of RS mag mainstays that were past it even back then (McCartney, Dylan, etc.)

Even their poltical articles are invariably about how the current GOP pres (be it Reagan, HW Bush or GW) is an asshole, or about how some kid who was selling massive quantities of pot/coke/meth/whatever has been given a long prison sentence and drug laws are unfair because little Johnny Dimebag is gonna get boofooed the rest of his life in the joint and wah, wah wah...

Spin, Blender and Classic Rock smoke RS seven ways from Sunday so bad it ain't funny, and that's all she wrote.
