Dave TV/Weird Science

So I FINALLY got around to watching "Weird Science" yesterday (I know, I'm only 15 years late or so...), and when they were creating the girl, they inserted a photo of David and something called "Dave TV" was on their television...

What exactly was Dave TV? An MTV thing? I apparently missed that back in the day entirely...don't hate me, I was probably banging somebody at the time...

Most importantly, is there anywhere to see it in it's entirety?

You know, that's funny...whenever I've seen that video, I always seem to catch it halfway through...since 1985 I've always caught it halfway through...makes a lot of sense, then.

I think you're right...I'm searching my memory of the film now, but didn't they want her to be part Roth so she'd be able to 'teach them how to party'?

Hahaha...yeah...I don't even know if they show the long (maybe a minute long) Dave TV beginning in the music channels, it might only be shown on vid collections etc...just a guess.

As I remember, there wasn't any real mention of why they threw in the DLR references, although I imagine that would be it...and with what happened to the kids house by the end of the film, I'd imagine the "DLR Party" insertion worked rather well.

I get the feeling I'd have a crazed bunch of road warriors on motorcycles in my living room, a piano in the lake and a nuclear warhead in my house if Roth threw a party here by the end of the night.

Anyway, yeah the Dave TV thing was just part of the Crazy from the Heat videos. He had plans for it, but it never went anywhere. At about the same time as that happened, so did the breakup, and after that all bets were off, and he had to come back out swinging with his new band and put the TV and movie stuff off...

I'm glad I didn't see that. I want to remember her as she was. I don't want to see her like that. I'll just keep my memories... ...cuz she was soooooo fuckable! That's a real shame...

DAVE TV released a few web episodes through, I believe, SLAWTERHOUSE long ago! This was a colage of videos etc.! I'm suprised you all don't know about this? it would be GREAT if someone saved them!
