Damn, that was right when LP's were not being made anymore.

Always thought it was a great way to follow up Appetite, rather than go out and try to do Appetite 2.

Was pretty much into G N R up through the Use Your Illusion period: have always thought that those two discs should have been combined into one killer album.

Lies was basically Unplugged before there WAS Unplugged, in terms of bands not really known for acoustic stuff stepping out and trying something different. The thing with G N R back then, to me, is that there were 5 guys who seemed authentic in what they were doing, and not a bunch of over-the-top sissies dressing up in spandex with long, bleach blonde hair, playing essentially pop tunes augmented with distorted power chords for an audience of teenaged girls - Bon Jovi, Poison, Winger, Warrant, etc.... you know, Cunt Rock. G N R may have overdone the 'I'm a badass' bit for the press a little bit in the beginning, but Appetite was a welcome break back in 1988 from the onslaught of one fucking power ballad after another.

Too bad it all eventually turned into the Axl Rose (no)Show.

The Live Like A Suicide Tracks are the Fucking Best.

When it comes to the Acoustic songs, I'm sick of patience and one in a million, so You're crazy is the best when it comes to the acoustics, it has such a graate guitar intro.
"With a rate of fire of over 20 rounds per second, the IMI Micro Uzi is almost as fast as Yngwie Malmsteen, and 25.4 times more musical"

                            Worst of all... It's true..
