All I have to say is: Thank the Heavens for Southern Rock!
Just like Classic Rock...it just gets better with age. I'm fans of ALL southern rock...but I'll list some of my favorites below. Yall ready out there?

1) Mountain.
2) Skynard.
3) ZZ Top.
4) The Band
5) Molly Hatchet.
6) The Allman Brothers.

I'd list more...but I'm sure you can see what I dig. I always say that the DUKES OF HAZZARD is what gave me a little taste of the southern side of things when I was a kid. Keep wavin' the rebel flag brother...and I'll keep the beers cold and the southern rock a blastin!

One time in band camp! haha

One time ... long ago! There was a softball game betwen the local DJ's and the MOLLY HATCHET band back when there first album was released! They lived near by on Oak ridge Rd! They all pull up to this game in their own muscle cars! Dave has this metalic gold '57 Corvette with 60's and a dog house on the hood covering an illegal here blower and it's like unbelievable, Danny in a GTO I believe!! Awesome day!

I wouldn't go that far... All the classic bands mentioned before are forever first class acts. The Crowes are one of my very, very fave bands, though. Got all their albums! That sound, man!
They're the only band I know who managed to hold back to the roots and sound genuine at the same time in the 1990s.
Too glad they've reunited last autumn, BTW. I could get the whole set they did on last New Year's Eve, thanks to HR's link in the Boot section.

I didn't see them at the time, but I got "Live at the Greek"... Led Zeppelin songs played with 3 guitars on stage, including Pagey's. Huge!

It's a sad road that i wander

Dreams flow by..

Hey, wait a minute i'm not dead yet.

Maybe I'll go put Raunch and Roll on.

I went back in time a few minutes ago and started reading a bunch
of history on Black Oak. I didn't know they robbed a couple places
in town(near where they grew up ,stupid) to get some dough to
buy instruments .The town folks ran them out of town they hid
up in the Hills practiced thier Music.Blasted out to New Orleans
then to L.A. On into 10 charted albums in like six years.ROCK & ROLL!

I jus luv Rock of this caliber in your face, VH ,Black Oak, Grand Funk,
Mouintain,Blackfoot ( how long since i heard Highway Song,great drinkin tune) .

Thanks for Bringin it up DT
