It's a toss up between either Damn Good or Hina.

I'm gonna go with Hina though... I love that song.

Best song on Skyscraper by far...

If I had to pick one it would be Hina, but I like all of it except Paradise.

i always loved 'just like paradise'. when i heard it for the first time, i loved the steve lines in that song, and the solo, and the keyboard... i think that billy is very low-achieving, but that is in the whole album.

...and i always skips hina!

I think JLP sounds like a van halen song and screams for MA backing vocals.

Damn Good is the song I think is the best. another begging for VH to do. I dont know if even ed could have come up with guitar any better than SV did. great song.

I am always floored that people like EEAS better than sky. EEAS is a fun cd but musically sky was way better.

cant stand damn Good. Sounds like it was written on the back of a match book in haste while waiting for the bus. Blah....

Bottom Line has a great mix of guitar, bass and drum work that fits in good with a David Lee Roth style vocal, that makes this song unmistakable. Too bad it's never seen radio air time.

The more time passes, the more I hate the sound of the album.
If only it could be remixed!

So, for me "Two Fools a Minute" makes it, as it's the track that didn't suffer too much from that mix.
And the guitar and bass solos are way past kickass, though OK, there are lots of great moments on the whole album, but damn, that 80s sound really doesn't help.

"Knucklebones" followed very closely by "Hina." "Hot Dog And A Shake" always annoyed the piss outta me.

BTW, Skyscraper SUCKS. Dave'd been better off continuing what the band built with EEAS rather than doing a 180 and trying to do hi version of 5150 or ou812.

HATE that album (especially Knucklebones, Bottom Line, and Hot Dog) - with the exception of Hina and Two Fools a Minute.

My favorite is Just Like Paradise. And knucklebones is a close second

you nail it, my french brother...the drums sound like some midi-shit...the guitar is flat and there are way too many "gimmicks"...

The guitar is just sterile....much like whenever Vai played Ed's parts live.

Right on, my German Freund!

But if the right sound wasn't there, there was great music and ideas in the record, which makes it all even more disappointing.
I mean, it's definitely not EEAS, but the same sound treatment would have made it something else for sure.
That said, it's only the one of Dave's records I least listen to, but they're still recordings I consider with most affection.

Damn, an album Dave could have released in better condition still is something hard to beat. :)
