They added a 2nd show in Jersey 1/2 hour after the first show went on sale and it'll be sold out by day's end at the latest.

Makes no sense at all since seats are available in the upper level and they added the second show without the 1st show selling out. Most artists add a second show immediately after the 1st sells out. There is no way the 1st show sells out by the end of the day now that the 2nd show was added.

Confusing? probably, it's Van Hagar.;)

This is Ed and Alex's chance to audition for Dave.

You should all consider the effects of what will happen if Ed can't continue past half a dozen shows, right? A shot credibility.

I'm saying on every board I'm on: 6 shows and they throw the towel in and cancel the tour.

SIX. Or Less, there's always that possibility, too you know!

THIS TOUR IS ABOUT AUDITIONING FOR FEARLESS LEADER AND NOTHING ELSE

You people must be in a dream world. Have you SEEN Dave on stage lately???? Its totally laughable...an amazing joke. You can't take it seriously; he's depressing. Especially when he tries to SING. He used to be able to, 25 years ago. If Dave were on tour, no one except the people on this site would go, and no matter how bad they were, everyone here would say how great they are.

Example: "Tomorrow Never Knows" from the last Dave album. One of the worst things ever recorded.

You're right it probably won't sell out by the end of the day but it will sell out by the show date. The reason they put a second show on sale immediately is so the die hard fans can still get good seats. the stragglers will take the cheap/poor seats ater.

This is a real VH reunion. Anytime the band sings with Sammy or Dave it's a real VH reunion because both incarnations were successful. Everyone on this message board acts like a baby. I dare people to not talk about this reunion and we'll see how many posts you fucks have about DLR. You would have nothing to say because he is an absolute ZERO!! He has not been viable since 1991. Me Wise Magic is a disgrace (although I do like Can't Get this Stuff No More) face it he is never coming back to VH and he will be lucky to have a solo career after his last CD and lame tour.

Not "Dio over Ozzy" you kok...

I merely said that it was good, not better than Ozzy, but different and good in its own way. Ian Gillan was also great in Sabbath too...

I'm NOT a Sammy fan. Some stuff on the "Live Without a Net" video is OK.

I'm saying they are different and hard to compare. But, I love old Van Halen. It's just that Dave is a caricature of himself, and a real bad one at that. Its funny to watch and listen to him though, because as bad as he has gotten is overwhelming...I remember a piece called "Oh how the mightly have fallen" a few years back...

Van Hagar will no doubt do a fantastic job of taking peoples money. Every city. Every venue. I believe they will make millions. And thats the shame. That is whats wrong with Van Halen. Gen Herpes hasn't figured that out yet. Same with LSD. They think because Dave isn't with the group and that Sammy is, this is the reason they are selling fast and selling out. Maybe. But more likely than not, that if Dave was back, they would've sold out world wide. Not just Jersey, Boston and Vegas. Give me a break. Cash cow sell-outs. That's what Van Halen is today. Play Runnin' with the Devil. Then play Right here, Right Now. One was made for the pure love of Rock n Roll. The other was produced by many people to generate sales for another crappy album. Not too mention the sell out with Pepsi.

Perfectly stated. You cant find a bigger fan of Dave than me, of his stuf from 20 years and more ago.

Today, he SUCKS. The truth hurts and thats the truth. I was so embarrased by the Sam and Dave show. He was TERRIBLE.

He hasn't been good since 1988!

I am actually pretty surprised they are selling out so fast, not because of the band but because of the prices. I checked on TicketMaster today for the DC show June 25th (not sold out yet) and after charges it was almost 108 bucks! Decided I'm not gonna go.

A little touchy about it ... all I need to know.

I know others who have been members long before I found this site have said this, and I see how true it is.

It is sickening at the amount of Sammy fans here who have posted at one time or another, and some more than once, "Hey, I love Dave, but ...".

Are you or are you not, at a Dave site bashing him?

I am just waiting for the tour to kick off and see how much it is reported on MTV. (I do not watch mtv that much but will turn it on somewhat when the vhagar tour kicks off, hopefully I will be able to gloat). I will love to see Van Hagar fail.

There would be something seriously wrong if Van Hagar doesnt have moderate success on this tour. They were a succesful 80's Pop band. However even the most ignorant of Van Hagar fans would have to
admit the original lineup would smash any kind of tour sales Spammy
will get.

Come on, the Dave/Sam tour was reasonably succesful, so you would have to accept that this tour will do at least as good.

I know for a fact that there will plenty of pissed fans that wont go. So they are not going to enjoy the maximum crowds they so easily could have attracted.

If Dave was in there would be international dates already locked in,
Plus a shitload more US dates. The current list of dates is pretty small
considering that this is meant to be some kind of earth shattering
reunion.

And I shit you not, I still havent heard one thing about this in the Australian media.

As for me personally, I dont give a fuck. They are thousands of miles away from me, and not likely to play anywhere near me. If they do come down under, we are ready to give them another reception like the Ga y Cherone debacle. I would rather save my money for the bands that care about its fans.

I am not just saying this because I am a Dave fan. Even some media people said this and people in the music industry.
I still say that if the Original Van Halen Line up did a tour it would be the BIGGEST ROCK N ROLL REUNION TOUR ever. (totally kickin ass over KISS).

There is just something about Original Van Halen and Original van halen fans. It is a mystery. The fans just go crazy for the original line up.

ONLY ONE SHOW OUT OF FIFTEEN HAS SOLD OUT AS OF 10:30 PM EASTERN TIME. MANY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE AS THEY HAVE NOT EVEN REACHED THE UPPER BOWL IN ABOUT HALF THE SHOWS. THE ONLY SELL OUT SO FAR HAS BEEN THE SAT. SHOW IN VEGAS. THIS MUST BE A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING ESPECIALLY WITH THE 10 PRESALES THEY HAD. I THOUGHT THEY WOULD SELL ALOT QUICKER THAN THIS AS IT SEEMS EVERYBODY LOVES SAMMY. THEY WILL PROBABLY SELL BY THE SHOW DATE. WHEN YOU GIVE YOURSELF 3 MONTHS TO SELL U SHOULD GENERATE SOME INTEREST.
I HOPE SAMMY SHEDS HALF A TON BY THE TIME THE TOUR BEGINS SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO ROLL HIM OUT ON STAGE.
I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT "DIAMOND DAVE" WOULD HAVE SOLD A FEW MORE TICKETS.
THE ONLY STAYING POWER VAN HALEN HAS IS THE MUSIC FROM THE DAVE ERA.
IT IS VERY RARE TO HEAR A SAM HALEN TUNE ON THE RADIO UNLESS YOU ARE LISTENING TO THE SOFT ROCK STATION.
THE ROTH ERA HAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO STAND THE TEST OF TIME.
THE PROOF IS IN THE ALBUM SALES; NOT EVEN CLOSE.
TAKE CARE DAVE WHEREVER YOU ARE.

OF COURSE they sold out in Jersey, or close to it, to add the 2nd show.....

Jesus H. Christ, the fookin' NY/NJ metropolitan area has 20 million people in it !!!!

I'm sure there are 40,000 sheep in it for 2 shows....

As I've said before, there are a few givens when it comes to their tour dates as it relates to attendance....

The first show in Greensboro, being the tour opener, should sell out or be close to it.....

Hagar strongholds, i.e. St. Louis (or maybe anywhere in Wisconsin :D ) will sell out....

The big cities will do the same....

The smaller markets is where they're gonna have plenty of empty seats....

I asked the question in another thread, but those of you who are saying that plenty of seats are available, where are you getting this information ???

yes, the shows seem to be selling well but when you think about it that is to be expected. for some reason i don't understand why hagar has a huge underground following, people that go to all his shows but are probably too embarressed to admit they are a hagar fan. the funny thing is, this tour is getting no major media coverage, can you imagine how much coverage a van halen roth reunion tour would have, with not only the rock press but with national press as well. this tour will be a success but to the mainstream press hagar is a nobody and roth is who they would want to talk to. then again eddie has always been jealous of roth so maybe he is happier this way. news to eddie, you will never make the rock n roll hall of fame until you get the exposure of a roth reunion. eddie and the boys may be richer than roth but deep down they will always be jealous of roth because deep inside there little greedy hearts before they go to bed each night they have to realize without roth none of there success would have ever happened. that is a fact and we all know it.

Face it, no one CARES...

Its hard to even find ANYTHING on the net about it, let alone in a magazine.

Dave will be expressing how HE should have been in the band, how HE is Van Halen, how "Ice Cream Man II" is better than the original...to which the cable guy (who came to disconnect his cable for non-payment) will simply nod and say, "I know, man, I know..."
