Alright, here is the edited MP3 of when Howard tried to call Dave some constructive criticism by Howard on Dave's show. He makes some interesting points and defends Dave, and seems a bit miffed that his call will not be taken at FREE FM.

Thanks for posting that. It wasn't nearly as bad as the bloggers made it out to be. Gary certainly defended Roth and Howard himself cut off Jenkins (sp??) as soon as he started to rag on Dave's show during the phone call. Howard had some valid criticisms (re: Uncle Manny, not talking about his personal life and claiming "reality radio", etc....). I would ask you to post the whole show but I don't want to get you or Pojo, Conmee and BrownSound in trouble with Siris (watch out for that, btw).

That would be a pretty big job! It was at least a five minute clip. But I suspect as more people download it and make comments on it in this thread, you will be able to get the gist of what was said.

I can't post the entire show, but I can show you where to download them using bit torrents (as well as entuire ROTH shows).

Yeah - you know I tried that the other day from your previous post and my computer can't read bit torrents for some reason. I have to do a little research to figure it out. If Siris really paid $500 million or whatever to Howard over 5 years I'll bet the are going to be pretty siris about not letting people post that show on the web! It may take a week or so, but those sites will be hearing from some fat cats in $3,000.00 suits with 40 names on the letter head.

Possibly, but from what HOWARD was saying, you can't get a SIRIUS receiver anyways, so this may just be more promotion them, and the shows are a day behind.

Exactly. I like Howard, but am not bothering to get satellite for the twenty minutes I usually listen to drive time radio. Though I'll put both DAVE and HOWARD on the iPod (since they went to all music at the station that carried Howard here.)

Howard is starting to make me feel sad. I've generally liked the guy all along, he got a bit boring about 5 years ago.

I just find it very odd, that someone who hates his old medium and make the biggest deal in the world about leaving it, would on his VERY first show in his new, super medium, decide to call his old place and "help". Poor Sirius plugging at best, pathetic at worst.

I gota say I agree with howard. he has good ideas for Daves show.

I love DLR and I find it interesting show but the general public is not getting him. Dave needs to mix it up, be funnier and do things like doing a lie detector test on his side lick...thats great stuff. then Dave could slam him for lying...et etc. dave needs to make it more fun and interesting for the general public and myself. as much as I love the show it could be alot more funny and fun. Daves to serious at times. for a radio spot where he replaced a very funny guy anyway.

I've heard Howard rip on Dave before and i don't see this as an attack on Dave.
I think it is a little pretentious for Howard to think he can give Dave pointers on how to do Dave's show though, but whatever, i'd take any advice from experience and use what applies, chuck what doesn't in my universe.

However, It seems to me that Dave's producer and the GM there are nervous and pretty much didn't want to risk allowing Howard on Dave's show, which is pretty sad and childish in my opinion.
I'd like to know if Dave even knew Howard was calling because i don't see Dave turning down the call.

All that said, If Dave's show fails i can already see that it can happen through no fault of his own.
But Dave is no stranger to bad management as we all know and he'll fix whatever is broken if he can.

I did find the comments on Dave not speaking of his lady friends to be bullshit, but that's because we understand why Dave doesn't talk about his relationships to begin with.
Much like why i don't speak of mine except for bits and pieces, it's called respect and radio or not, reality or not, that shit is only the business of those we choose to share it with.

The exceptions are only those who i have no respect for, and there are a few of those in my past personally.

Well a few of you guys get it. I truly think if Dave wants to reach the people, he needs to talk about his fucking personal life, at least to some degree. That's what makes these shows interesting, the human element of it. The average person doesn't want to hear Dave the Rockstar, they know that guy already, they want him to relate to them. That's the trick for Dave IMO.

And enough of the VH shit, nobody apart from a diehard Dave or VH fan gives a flying fuck about who told Eddie to paint his fucking guitar. Most casual listeners don't even know what the fuck he's talking about, they just want to pass the time while driving to work.
