CNN is reporting that a US airstrike, conducted in PAKISTAN, MAY have killed the second in command of Al-Qaida: Ayman Al-ZAWAHIRI. Details of the airstrike are in the following article, it does not mention Al-Zawahiri ...

EXCLUSIVE: Pakistani Military Sources Say Zawahiri May Be Dead
Forensic Tests to Reveal Fate of al Qaeda Number Two
By BRIAN ROSS

Jan. 13, 2006 — - Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.

U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

The attack took place early this morning Pakistan time in a small village a few miles from the border with Afghanistan.

Villagers described seeing an unmanned plane circling the area for the last few days and then bombs falling in the early morning darkness.

Eighteen people were killed, according to the villagers who said women and children were among the fatalities.

But Pakistani officials tell ABC News that five of those killed were high-level al Qaeda figures, and their bodies are now undergoing forensic tests for positive identification.

Officials say Zawahiri was known to have used safe houses in this area last winter and was believed to be in the area again this winter.

Zawahiri, who appeared just last week in a new videotaped message, had increasingly been taking the operational reins of al Qaeda, and is thought by U.S. officials to be the current true mastermind of the terrorist group.

Pakistani officials tell ABC News that the bodies of the five suspected al Qaeda figures will be recovered at first light in Pakistan, but it will still take a day or two for any kind of positive identification. U.S. officials in Washington did not comment.

Dr. al Zawahiri noted the planned troop reduction and commended Bush, since he recognized the number 7 as a multiple of 1000 in the reduction, and 7 is a holy number and the base number for Al Queda's attacks, which predict a much larger four-boomer, on or about 5/8/2008, which adds to 23 linearly, as does 9/11/2001.

IF he is to be replaced, we do not know what to expect, and any peace negotiations may not save LA, expected to get whacked.

I think Al will do LA, Houston, Atlanta, and one other area, like DC, in 2008. Doc Zawahiri may have been the leader to negotiate with. But then, Chimpster is chumping US, on this. He's the damn bathroom monkey, not any of us. He can wreck the bathroom, if we don't GET HIM OUTTA THERE.

Don't let a damn monkey redo your bathroom, eh? Al will hear, and AL knows the US is a HOUSE OF THIEVES.

You know what...

knowing this guy is living in caves, furnished with curtain covered couches...shitting in caves...fucking his #3 in the ass long enough to run every other day...

for the rest of his life...

is good enough for me...

We've had a hand in just about every, "slime in the bush" terrorist over the past 40 years getting armed...and trained...in one manner or another...

whether it be because we actually did it...funded it...or lost track of where our "illegal, stolen" guns ended up...

You can't cry over spilt milk...

I've read the same shit about the saudis paying him...but you know where some of that "saudi money" came from...

Saudi's get to ride that fence...whispering shit behind our back...while remaining our tentative allies all through it...

fact of the matter is that the Middle East is rife with fucking sandscum that lives their life like a fucking spoiled bitch biting the hand that feeds them.

Fucking bunch of third world nations...that spend billions of dollars growing 10 acres of fucking grass in the middle of the fucking desert to golf on...and somehow get our attention because the 400,000 golf courses in the states aren't enough.

Frankly...I'm sick of this shit...

We get to stay their policing...losing 20-30+ soldiers a week...on our heals...

knowing that we could make the entire fucking population of Iraq police...and the second we fucking walk out...they turn into a fucking "anti-US terrorist" dictatorship again...

cept this time it will be twice as bad...

and 75% of the world will say..."Well..the fucking US did start this shit..."

which I really don't give a shit about...

but it's getting fucking ridiculous. We wallow around these fucking caves looking for 70 year old sand heebs who have dirt infected asses because they hate the US...

what the fuck was this shit about?

DAMADOLA, Pakistan (AP) — Al-Qaida's second-in-command was not at the site of a U.S. airstrike on a Pakistan village near the Afghan border that killed at least 17 people, two senior Pakistani officials said Saturday.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, said that Pakistan's own investigation concluded that Ayman al-Zawahri was not in the village of Damadola.

"Their information was wrong, and our investigations conclude that they acted on a false information," said a senior intelligence official who has direct knowledge of the investigations launched by Pakistan to look into the attacks.

Separately, a senior government official told AP that al-Zawahri was not present at the homes which were attacked.

"He was not there, and this is what we know after a detailed probe" into the incident, he said.

Pakistan's government was expected to formally issue its reaction on the attack later Saturday.

There are some successes with the drones, but one mistake leads to innocent civilians being caught in the crossfire and the targets being missed.
I agree with Sesh here, a target isn't worth killing women and children over and i don't care how good or confident they are that a target is actually in the strike zone.

It's clear to me that we missed the target, again, and i'm quite fed up with how things are being run at this point.
I mean do we actually have good intelligence or are we just fishing with a pistol here?
I tend to think the latter.

Every time something like this happens it sets our progress back by months with the people we are trying to help.

And for me this excuse of it always being bad intel isn't gonna fly anymore. If our intel sucks so bad, and i think it does, we shouldn't be trusting it.

I'm embarrassed for our troops, they are being made a joke of by our own leadership and the way they have half-assed this whole mess.

I have absolutely No Confidence in our government...

Yeah, like when we shot those Tomahawk's at bin Laden and missed.

Or missed Saddam in the Desert Fox campaign.

Embarrassing, huh?

Did you whine then?

Actually the Tomahawks hit the target, so they didn't miss. Bin Laden wasn't there, though they may have killed dozens, or even 100's, of "al-Qaeda," if there was indeed such an organization...

The missiles probably killed women and children as well, and that is terrible and regrettable, but perhaps terrorists should lose their wives and children in retaliatory attacks, since they have obvious little regard for others' wives and children whom they kill in wanton bombings...

The terrorists would probably consider their relatives to be "martyrs for Allah".

I'm more concerned with what it makes Americans look like.

Of course "we" have been doing this for sometime now, Hiroshima being the most obvious historic example. It was reported as a "military base" on the radio at the time, when it was nothing of the sort.

I believe America SHOULD be better than that. Deliberate civilian targeting, that is.

I didn't say deliberate civilian targeting, I'm just saying I'm not going to feel too bad if there was indeed terrorists and supporters there putting their families into harms way, that's all. I think we should avoid collateral damage, if at all possible. And Hiroshima isn't the best example, I think in Tokyo, we killed far more civilians via fire-bombing than by the atom-bombs...

Read "Fly-Boys" which recounts Japanese babies literally cooked, and bursting, while strapped on their mothers backs as they ran to the sea to escape the fires...And the fact that US B-29 crewman in essence admitted that they were "baby-killers."

Not to mention Dresden, Berlin, Hamburg, and dozens of German cities in WWII that we incinerated in order to reduce industrial production and to break German will to fight...It was 'okay,' because we knew full well what the Germans had been doing to the Jews and others...

No, it's not.

:gulp: Well, then flying an airliner into the pentagon was not an atrocity after all!

Cool, I´ll remember that!
