    Van Hagar tickets selling poorly

I came across these on usenet from some non-dave fans:

I'm not gonna take either side of the Sammy / Dave debate. I get a kick out of reading all of the debates in here. While reading the threads on how well the tickets for the new tour are selling, I decided to do my own search for all of the shows on Ticketmaster.
It's pretty simple for anyone to see that the tickets are not selling well at all. I gotta say I'm a bit surprised at exactly how poorly they are selling. If you do a search for 8 tickets to any of the shows listed you can easily get 8 tickets together in the lower bowl of most shows (with very few exceptions). Some of the shows you can still get 8 tickets together on the floor (Hershey Park). There is only 1 sold out show. That's Saturday in Vegas. There are 3 cities that have added 2nd shows, but these must have been pre-planned regardless of ticket sales, because there are tickets available at all of these shows just about anywhere you want to sit.
The first show in Greensboro is being sold at tickets.com. I typed in 8 tickets for that show and it came up with 8 together on the 1st level 2 sections out from the stage.
There's no doubt that this has to be considered a miserable failure. There's not even any debate. Go do the searches yourself.

    And this one:

Yeah, no kidding. If you go to www.ticketmaster.com and you want 8
tickets on the floor at Hershey Park they'll put you in section D,
when you consider sections A,B,C (collectively front row and Heshey
Park) are mostly reserved for radio giveaways and friends of the band
this has to be hard for them to take in.

It's their fault, they are trying to cash in on this deal as if it
were a reunion with Roth and it isn't. I don't think you'll find
anyone (even hardcore Sammy fans) who would tell you the price of a
Hagar renion ticket should be as much as a Roth era reunion ticket,
but they are kiding themselfs into thinking this has the same
    nostilgic value and it doesn't.

That's the first mistake, the other mistake is they are booking venues
a bit larger than their status demands, so yeah this isn't looking
good and by now the money people (people investing in this tour) know
    it.

    And this one:

Jack is right.. I can get 8 seats together in section 120 at Greensboro
    Coliseum:

    $775.50 for 8 seats.

And these are the non-Dave fans!

It's still not sold out. I went to www.ticketsellers.com and there are still plenty of tickets for Saturday. Also, Mandalay Bay Arena is not that huge of a venue. The old band Yes also has two shows there about a week prior to Van Hagar's two shows.

For the record it sounds to me like the guy is definitely a Roth fan. No Sambo fan would actually admit that it's not selling.

I wasn't arguing with him. My buddy lives down in Vegas and he told me that they are not selling like crazy at all. He said it's selling just like any typical classic rock concert would sell. I just checked out of boredom and curiosity.

There are absolutely NO SELL OUTS for Van Halen yet. Thats not to say they wont sell out the arenas, but I would think that a Roth reunion would've sold a helluva lot faster. Plus they are not really driving any new songs to promote this yet. Once their new song hits the radio to promote this tour, maybe it will pick up.
Im a bit surprised at how poorly they've promoted this reunion/tour! Hell I havn't seen a thing on TV. No ET, nothing on Star nor Much Music here in Canada. Kinda strange isn't? I think someone isn't doing their job.
"FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKIN' BITCH! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ANYWAYS? TALK TO ME LIKE THAT? FUCK YOU. DRAG QUEEN LOOKIN' WHORE- YOU AINT SHIT. YOUR THE FRECKLE TO THE LEFT OF MY BROWN EYE. NOW GO MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL...OH, PUT DAD ON THE PHONE"

When the tickets for vh went on sale in philly, there were only 50 people there.Every 15 minutes they kept on saying that there was no waiting.so that was an indication that ticket sales were not good.

I'm not going to see Halen this tour. I could care less, and I'm not encouraging anybody to see them. Edward has been using the fans as tools for the last seven years?? I gave VHIII a small chance, and went to see them on that tour, and it blew. After the next round in 2000 with Dave, I gave up. Eddie blames it on the lawyers...sure. The only thing that's going to get me to see Halen is if Dave's up there in all his spandex wearing, Jack Daniels spewing glory. I want to hear how he's going to fuck that kid's girlfriend in the front row. I want to see Eddie blaze away on the guitar, I want to see Al in his neckbrace pounding on the skins, and Mike yelping in all his glory...but only under those conditions. Dave or else.

This of course is somebody who owns all their albums, and has given every incarnation a chance. But after that 1996 fiasco, they lost some good will, then after the 1998 sham, they lost more good will. After 2000, it went poof. I will not be a tool in their shame. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, you know the picture. God damn, don't we learn?

I'm not buying BOV II either. Or a new Spammy album if it comes out. The only thing I might consider is a VH box set that's been remastered. That's it. It's not really Sammy that's an issue for me, but he's being used as a tool in this too. For shame. Get your tickets, and let Eddie laugh his ass off. He's pulled one over on us once, twice, and three is the charm? I'm not buying. I can't believe so many of those fans on VH Links and other sites are ready to blow their wads just to hear some mediocre new material from the band, and forget all that shit that happened. When I saw they were releasing a new tune, I thought 'big shit'. If it's anything like 'Humans Being', it'll suck a big fat one. Don't forget Sammy fans, Edward smoked your ass too when he kicked that Tequila salesman out the door eight years ago.

Eddie dealt the cards, and I'm folding.

I would have been there if Dave was back in, but this joke of a show? Good luck to the scalpers - better off folowing the American Idol tour.

I will say it again. If the Original line up of Van Halen did a reunion tour it would be the BIGGEST ROCK N ROLL TOUR OF ALL TIME.

It is not just me saying it. The media and people in the music industry,

                    Its a NO BRAINER.

                    Everyone knows it.

Van Halen with Dave will beat any Rock group in the subject of a reunion tour.

I ask name 1 band or bands that you will think that would sell tickets more than the original van halen? (talking about bands that broke up)

There is something about the original van halen line up that people just go crazy for.

                    thefive

                    And by the way

Sammy just blows. He just blows.

Actually, the middle quote is from a guy who believes Sammy's tequila is the second biggest in the world and his lyrics are deep. Tell me that's not a Sambo fan.

And yes, a Roth reunion would be HUGE. Last year, VH1 did a special on the biggest fueds in entertainment. Sammy vs. Dave was #22 and Dave vs. Van Halen was the #1 fued of all time. Sammy vs. VH did not even rank.

Would people be interested is seeing those involved in the biggest fued ever reunite? I think so. Especially after this VH disaster. Sammy's career is over after this. He won't even have VH to run to anymore.

Really, that's vastly different from the picture they painted on WMMR when I happened to tune in to them just about 11 o'clock

Seriously, I was listening to them about 11 AM on Saturday morning flipping through the stations and they made it sound like there were these massive lines and people fighting for tickets. Glad to know the truth.

Check out eBay, the ticket sales have bottomed out. The die-hard Hagar fans created a bit of a buzz but it's over. The stock has dropped significantly. It is true that the first Vegas show sold out. However, tickets are still widely available at a very reasonable price. You can order them through most casinos. The Manadalay Bay Arena holds 12,000. I'm told that 9,500 tickets were actually sold. Tons are readily available online or not selling on eBay.
