Tuned her up, and wow, a really nice player too...

Elvis, being a lefty player myself, I must say that your entire collection makes me VERY jealous! You have the best guitar collection in the world! By the way, do you still have that Jackson-lookin thingy from 87?

ELVIS

Yes...

I have 18 or 19 guitars now...

I thought I posted this pic...

I just totally disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled my new 20 year old Stratocaster...

The wiring is untouched...

I doubt the pickguard was ever removed...

All the screws fit tight and they are all nice and clean...

The stock pickups sound good too...

I'm thinking about keeping this guitar totally original...

Ahhh very nice Elvis. It's weird to look at the pictures because they seem like the guitar are backwards, but in reality you're left handed. Very cool stuff dude, roth on.

The Japs were making wicked guitars around that time. I have a few sterling Jap strats and I love em.

Don't touch it!

It can never be touched.

"Can I look at it?"

No - no at that one you can't.

How true.I bought a 59 re-issue Tele around that time that was outstanding.Played and sounded great.

The current Japanese Fenders are nice too...

The surf green '62 reissue in the pic is a 2004 model...

The '86 plays better though...

I'm ordering a mint green pickguard and an HS-2 and HS-3...

I'm gonna keep the original pickguard and pickups in a safe place, and I'm not cuttang any wires...

You never knoe what the collectability will be like in another 20-30 years...

But, then if I go ahead and scallop it...

Hmmm...

Well, if you're worried about it not being 'vintage' some day, you could always slap a Warmoth neck on it to scallop and keep the original one with the original 'guard and pickups...:D

ELVIS

No, I like this neck, and I'm not an aftermarket nack fan, although they're very nice...

To have a Fenfer Stratocaster, you must have a Fender neck and a Fender body, that's part of my guitar philosophy...

I have no problem scalloping a vintage neck...

Pluse. I've never felt an aftermarket neck as good as this one...

This may be the nicest neck I ever had, and If I scallop it, it will be nicer...

We'll see...

My main squeeze is the same Strat except with a maple neck. Mines all original and plays like a dream. I never had any problem with the three bolt neck going unstable either.

I like he big headstock and the bullet. A good 70's Strat is a thing of beauty.

Play the hell out of it, guitars are made to be played. Enjoy it, life is too short.

Dude, that pic is tiny!

Yeah, the damn file thing made me shrink it. I made some changes to my baby, I striped it with hockey tape

ELVIS
02-21-2006, 02:41 AM
I've done that...;)

ELVIS

Ok...

I'M SCALLOPING IT !!

I've not put her down since I got her and if my hands have a little moisture on them I can't get a good grip on the strings...

That's the #1 advantage of scalloping...

The decision has been made!!!
