MORRISSEY QUIZZED BY FBI

Singer MORRISSEY was quizzed by the FBI and British intelligence after speaking out against the American and British governments.

The Brit is a famous critic of the US-led war in Iraq and has dubbed President GEORGE W BUSH a "terrorist" - but he was baffled to be hauled in by authorities.

Morrissey explains, "The FBI and the Special Branch have investigated me and I've been interviewed and taped and so forth.

"They were trying to determine if I was a threat to the government, and similarly in England. But it didn't take them very long to realise that I'm not.

"I don't belong to any political groups, I don't really say anything unless I'm asked directly and I don't even demonstrate in public. I always assume that so-called authoritarian figures just assume that pop/rock music is slightly insane and an untouchable platform for the working classes to stand up and say something noticeable.

"My view is that neither England or America are democratic societies. You can't really speak your mind and if you do you're investigated."

Panic on the streets of Iraq
Panic on the streets of Afghanistan
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again ?
The Crawford side-streets that you slip down
I wonder to myself
Hopes may rise on the Grasmere
But Georgy Pie, you're not safe here
So you run down
To the safety of the town
But there's Panic on the streets of the Carlyle Group
Dublin, Dundee, Kennebunkport
I wonder to myself
Burn down the White House
Hang the blessed CHIMPY
Because the terra alerts that they constantly play
IT SAYS NOTHING TO ME ABOUT MY LIFE
Hang the blessed CHIMPY
Because the music they constantly play
On the Crawford side-streets that you slip down
Provincial towns you jog 'round
Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY
Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY
HANG THE CHIMPY, HANG THE CHIMPY, HANG THE CHIMPY
HANG THE CHIMPY, HANG THE CHIMPY
HANG THE CHIMPY, HANG THE CHIMPY
Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY
HANG THE CHIMPY, HANG THE CHIMPY
HANG THE CHIMPY, HANG THE CHIMPY
Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY, Hang the CHIMPY

AGAIN? This is like the third or fourth time he's been investigated as some sort of terrorist rabble rouser. I dig a lot of his stuff, but how can anyone possibly take what he says seriously? His lyrics are just goofy!

Morrissey has kind of that "emo" thing going on for a while now.

He has a cool voice, though.

Funny that he was investigated because he insulted Bush. :D

As quoted on Blabbermouth.net

HENRY ROLLINS Cited As 'Possible Threat' By Australian Government - Feb. 18, 2006

According to News.com.au, American punk rock icon and writer Henry Rollins was reported to the National Security hotline during his recent Australian tour because of a book he was reading on a flight to Brisbane.

A furious Rollins was informed he was "nominated as a possible threat" for reading "Jihad: The Rise of Militant Islam In Central Asia", writes Kathy McCabe.

The incident happened on a flight from Auckland on the recent Big Day Out tour.

Rollins told Australian fans during his tour that he received a letter from a "nice woman" who worked "in one of those government areas that deals with anti-terrorism matters."

He posted the letter on his web site.

"Please tell your Government and everyone in your office to go fuck themselves. Baghdad's safer than my hometown and your PM is a sissy," he wrote.

Don't discount the possibilities.

One can only imagine how easy it'd be for Cat Stevens to talk Morrisey into a Burka. That's after he sang him out of his clothes.

Fucking Stevens....he'd have Morrisey all drunk with promises of saving ahm-bagley.

Next thing you know, Morrissey's pompadour is cuntcealing a bomb.

"I am human and I need to be....."

KA-BOOM!!!

Nah, just the "Best Of Vol 1" or whatever it's called. But I also have the original cassette of "Meat Is Murder" somewhere.

Was never a huge Smiths fan, but they had a few decent songs.

I'm just glad they managed to lock up phil spector before he could do any more damage.

Bro, I dated this chick that loved it....yeah, "it" and the smiths. I've still got her cassette somewhere. She liked the Church too. I remember bartering for different music with that bitch. I'd be all like, "I'll go get some more weed if you put on the church tape....the one about the milky way or whatever."

I only know the one recording....I still laugh when I see it lumped into the gothagory. Not that "Starfish" record, but the band in general.

This girl was as far from goth as Hawaiian tropic could get...where was I?

Oh yeah, she wasn't goth at all....this other girl I knew? She was so goth you didn't need a dome light.

As far as I'm concerned, Johnny Cash was the original goth, and even in his declining years, did it better than anybody.

Dressed in black and wrote songs about pain. And didn't even have to look like a pretentious jackass doing so.

I mean some of those goddamned goth records..... I remember one band whose "hit single" consisted of a loopy instrumental that went absolutely nowhere for about 10 minutes and then some voice saying "Jesus Wept" really slowly.

Now, granted I was on LSD for the first time when I heard this record, so maybe not the best perspective for an objective review. But the acid couldn't have made it that much worse!
