OK, I've been meaning to start a thread on this for a while.

Back in December, I saw a great new band called "Porcupine Tree", who were excellent-and I was thrilled to hear Robert Fripp was supporting. So, naturally, I gave him a much deserved round of applause as he came on stage. And, he started playing some quite nice sounds on his guitar. It was nice-for about 5 minutes, the other 40 minutes were less enjoyable. Utter boredom. You could hear eveyone talking over him, he became more like caberet.

What the fuck is he doing? Its not even music, its just random noises. Its wrong-its shite.

I was subjected to the same bollox at a G3 event in 2004 at the Albert Hall in Olde London Towne.

Some geezer shouted from the audience "OI, MATE IT'S A GUITAR, IT'S GOT STRINGS, FUCKING PLAY IT".

I nearly pissed myself.

He's been doing this for about 20 years I think. I agree that in short doses it's cool. But a whole show is crap. I was subjected to one of these performances years ago and it sucked.

...And also, for some stupid reason, he was showing us pictures of his house, his wife (who remembers Toyah?), his studio and his rabits on a projector. Why?
