definite copyright infringement, and it's very rare that you see me defending EVH! :D

Not trashing, not flashing. I just think this 'ell get better feedback (no pun intended) in Gear Street.

BTW, have you ever tried to get an LP jr. tone out of an Epiphone?

I haven't either.

Blech, Blargh, Patooey.

Except it's not. Ed's copyright only covers 3 patterns

Red Black and White Striped
Yellow and Black
Black and White

After that (in theory) you're free to use whatever colour scheme you like. In actuality Ed would most likely cry foul and try to stop it.

...and didn't Ed get the idea from the way kids stripped their bicycles back in the 70s in the 1st place, anyways? Seems like I read that somewhere... And though I'm not a copyright lawyer, can't he only copyright his three EXACT stripe-patterns? Otherwise, how did companies get away with non-identical versions of those color schemes all these years?

Kind of an awesome looking guitar, I didn't know the green would stand out so much. Wonder how it plays

There's a few stories on how he got the idea. The most recent one is that Ed got the idea off Dave, who got the idea from seeing a picture of the Clash (the bass played stripped his Rick).

I got a home job for a lot less than $250. No wait, that was a hum...

That's what Dave said on the radio recently.

Got it in one. When you compare pics at the time of EVH and The Clash, it is believable that could be were the idea came from.

Also if I remember right there was also another band playing the club circuit the same time as Van Halen who also started stripping there guitars. I don't know the name of this band, but I'm 90% sure their guitarish had stripped his Les Paul.
