Despite the fact that Van Halen is in a state of confusion right now, they did have a significant impact on music that can't be disputed.

Van Halen in it's original form is a legendary rock band, and you can't ignore or dismiss that. What is so sad about the fact that they broke up, never got back together, and bad mouthed each other all these years is the music and the performances we missed out on. The increadible machine that was Van Halen lasted for six legendary albums that I will put up against any six albums by the other bands mentioned.
