Yup. THEE Art LaBoe. I was just out to LA last summer and visited my friend at their offices on Sunset. Very cool place and Art is still on top of his game in the music business. My buddy started out as an assistant(gopher), and worked his ass off for Art. So, logically, I'm not believing this. I wish it were true, but

If Roth and Van Halen were going to rejoin there would be a serious amount of publicity to boost the stagnent sales of their tix. Not too mention that Dave cannot keep a secret for more than a week. If Roth is going on stage he tells the world "Im here". Always has. he knows how and when to work the media. Plus I dont believe he would with or around Sam if it involved VH. Sam and Dave didn't prove to be a "hit" at all. In fact Fat Sam pulled from the tour and the only hit was Dave continueing the tour without him.
I'll tell you what. Im so confident in what I believe. (and what I believe is that this is a farewell tour with Sam to possibly introduce Dave next year with a full release cd- remember Sam said when a band does a greatest hits, its over? well guess what folks for Sam it is.) Well I don't know what to think. It's easy to see how it's possible with Dave's silence, Roth songs on radio promos, no interviews from band etc.

The one question I can't get past is WHY?! Why would they not take advantage of this? It's like keeping your star player on the bench for game 7 of the World Series. They shouldn't sell a single ticket for this tour without letting people know Dave is involved...let alone tickets for the WHOLE TOUR?!?!

For myself, seeing Dave show up and jump onstage at a Van Hagar show would truly be gagworthy.

Dave's best move would be to stay as far away from this as possible.

Bad enough he even linked up with Sam in 2002. For Dave to get involved with the Sam Halen reunion tour would smack of him cowtowing to Eddie and Alex and deferring to Hagar. Same goes for any future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame appearance.
