The guy bleeds Roth more than anyone I know...is a good friend, and someone that I'd support if he opened up a fucking Muppet forum.

IMO...in the land of VH/Roth...there isn't one single person more influential than this guy.

1. Brownsound1--To the newbies that don't know him...Brownie may very well be the most influential and/or respected webbie/mod at any site. His knowledge of Roth, Eddie and guitars are second to none, and I guarantee you that he's forgotten more about VH/Roth than most of you EVER knew. And don't even start talking to him about Led Zeppelin...To be quite honest, I wouldn't be a part of this or any site if it wasn't for this guy. He was a major player at the Links in 2000, before moving his digs over to the Army. He isn't a MAJOR poster, but he just goes to show you that you don't have to post that much to garner the respect of nearly everyone at the site. There isn't a fucking person here that I respect more. This guy is a friend...and simply the best person here at the Army.

Grant and I had a minor scrap once about a bit of news he broke on the Army...but cooler heads quickly prevailed. Bottom line here is that Grant was THE ONLY unbiased VH webmaster of ANY site. He called it like he saw it, and was the best at what he did. Without the VHND, I wonder if ANY of these sites would have been here. The day Grant sold his site, was a say day indeed.

#4--Brett--I started at the Links. Rumor has it that he put a good word in for me at the start of this site. I've never confirmed it, but don't really need to. I've busted Brett's balls from time to time back in the day...pre Army. I've hammered the hell out of him when the Army started. I was banned from there for a bit. Through all of it, I've managed to remain friends with the guy...irregardless of the fact that he is a Laker fan...;). Seriously though, when it's all said and done, Brett's opening of the VHLinks in 1999 was as influential a move as anything from any of these sites. The guy takes a lot of heat, and has never backed down from any of it. In my book, that puts him top 5, and in the grander scheme of things...should probably put him higher. But fuck it...BS and Icon get the bias from yours truly.

facts gentlemen and ladies...when it's all said and done, Sarge, Grant and Brett should be 1,2 and 3 here...in whatever order you prefer.

#5--Von Halen--Funny thing about Vonnie is that everyone buy him and I say that we are feuding. That couldn't be further from the truth. Von started off as a member of this board. He was quickly made a mod here, and it didn't take much convincing to make him a webmaster. When the Army went down, Von was there to start a forum of his own, much like I did the first time the Army went down. The site remains the same....thus was born DDLR.com. Truth be told, it's a lot more like the Army than most people admit. It has to be for fuck sake...it's run by former fucking Army webbies and mods. Anyways, Vonnie kept alive the Roth and Rollin' when most of us didn't fucking want to post at any of the other sites. Fact: This guy is probably THE biggest Roth fan I know...period. Fact: Without the DDLR.com, most posters you see back at either site, would be long gone. Fact: Vonntreal is top 5.

I think this list is cuntfusing people a bit.

If it was about posts then Arielle Bot would be top 10.

People are also cuntfusing(see a flappoism) this for a popularity contest.

If it was objective then me and Conmee would be lower in the rankings and Cato, Mr Walker and even Lou and some others would be higher for the bootlegs at least. Also in the the great scheme of things Warf himself would be top 10 or 15 but that would be immodest for him to say. It all depends on which particular bit of all this shit interests you be it bootlegs, humor, the dump or even the new Sheep Pen thing.

The best thing about Warf's list is reminding some of us about all the people that have come before and have got a life and moved on after making a lot of great posts and making us laugh. Sarge himself is now in that category.

Let's face it having a lot of posts at a site dedicated to an ex rock star is nothing to be particularly proud of...:)

Coming up with new info, funny stuff, bootlegs or influencing the character or posting style of these forums is what I think Warf meant by this thread. That's why he put Flappo high up even though he has posted almost nothing about DLR/CVH in 4 years because he still influenced the place.

I'll give you an example. My first thread at this site in 2001 or so was 'Would it have been better if EVH had died in 1985 and become a lgend like Hendrix?' Within 5 minutes 8 of the mods and Webmasters screamed 'How fucking dare you contemplate such a thing, Eddie rules how fucking dare you you prick?." I think Hitch and maybe Warf were the lone dissenting voices. Things have changed a hell of a lot on the CVH boards over the years.

Hitchworld has become pretty irrelevant now because it was created as a separate site so that people could post the kind of stuff that is routinely posted in the HW Dump forum here but it has had a huge effect on pushing the envelope of the community.

If you go to most rock band sites if you forget where you are you'll be banned in minutes. For better or worse this is the way CVH forums have ended up and WARF's list largely reflects that and who fucked it up...:)

Sarge should be #1 though and Brett #2 for entirely different reasons.:)

Von #5...back to the insiders...and first to branch out and create a SUCCESSFUL website...not including that free deal that many wanted to keep open...but I absolutely wanted to be a temp board until the Army came back up...and also influenced a great many posters on this board.

I agree with this. Any and every Van Halen fan on in the internet back in the 90's was checking the VHND first thing they got online, and many sites patterned their whole schtick around a similar premise, but were unsuccessful.
