Tough choice between Priest, Maiden and Scorpions....
So I'll go with Judas Priest.

There must have been some other better albums in 1983 than those.
From that choice, Maiden's best album...

Maiden for me with Speak of the Devil in 2nd place.. I wore both of these records out from sheer play..

Yeah, no doubt...
Damn, some of these are tough decisions...I like siding with the underdogs, though...

Venom.
Sorry, but it's not even close.
What Venom did that year made the offerings by Priest, Maiden, Accept, Ozzy, the Scorps and (snicker, snicker) Krokus look totally tame by comparison, although I hasten to add those are all great bands and good albums, except for Krokus (who always sucked).

Exactly.
Don't think I would call Signals a metal album...but it is my favorite from that year. You pretty much hear Subdivisions on a daily basis on radio or Sat.
I'll go with Maiden then Priest...

I voted for "Blackout", but it was released in 1981 (but it doesn't matter, really).
I dig "Speak of the Devil" a lot. But it was Sabbath stuff from beginning to end.
I personally don't see much in that year - but then I never could stand the Priest, Maiden, Manowar or Accept...

OK, so it's not an official album, but it's the only chance you got to hear Dave Mustaine playing with Metallica.

I don't hear anything...
It ain't one of those damned ever-present "youtube" things.
But if I can find one of those, I'll link it.

Krokus Headhunter was released in 1983. In '82 they released One Vice at a Time
