Holt's a fucking amateur compared to Criss.

He's nothing.

You and I ARE going to disagree on that.

Did you know Criss Oliva almost joined Megadeth after Chris Poland was out?

True story.

True story.

i've not heard a great deal of Criss, what i have heard is pretty good but i doubt he would have been as good a choice for megadeth as Marty Friedman was

I'm not sure what the story was...I think Mustaine wanted him, and I know he auditioned, but I don't know whether Dave gave him the nod or not - from what I've heard, Dave wanted like all hell to have him, but Criss opted to stay in Savatage with his brother...not the best choice financially, but...

I'm inclined to agree with you, but not based on skill...Criss could have shreded with Yngwie or thrashed with Mustaine...hell, he'd have even given Eddie a run for his money back in Eddie's heyday pretty easily...Criss was pretty much straight-ahead metal though, not so much thrash...

A fucking genius on the instrument though - I saw him live and he remains to this day the most competant live guitarist I've ever laid eyes on. Of ALL of them.

God, I miss him.

from what i have heard it would have been quite cool to hear
criss do an album with um,or a tour.Him and Mustaine could have a guitar off onstage.

but well yea as you said,we shall have to dissagree on this one :)

They say that rock and roll is strong
But God's the rock that makes us roll
Don't need no drugs to help us push on
We've got His power in our souls

(bridge) Stand up and fight
For what you believe in
We know...

(chorus) He's the rock that makes us roll
Rockin' all the world
Giving me the courage to be bold
Giving me just what I need
Always guaranteed
He's the rock that makes me roll - rock'n'roll

(solo)

You say that rock and roll is strong
Yes, God's the rock that makes us roll
Don't need no drugs to help you push on
You can have His power in your soul

(bridge)

(chorus)

Better than any on that list.

Loudness - Thunder In The East

fucking weird as hell band, VH1 put them on the worst metal songs ever list. But Auctually a half decent 80's Metal Record. They're like a Japanese Judas Priest in my opinion.
