    My Strat Story..

A while back you might remember I purchased a Mexi-Strat and posted about setting it up. I am really not a great player but wanted to get an electric to make some noise.

Well the guitar felt good to me until I played my friends SRV Strat and loved it. Not only did it have a nicer tone (of course) but it was a TON lighter in weight.

Well funny enough, only after 30 days of owning it. The middle pick-up died. Not to mention, it would never hold a tuning and needed tuning everytime I picked it up no matter how often.

I took it back to where I bought it and bought an American Tobacco Sunburst Strat with a Maple Fret board. It is SUCH a BETTER Guitar and it stays in tune. This guitar has inspired me to start taking real lessons again on weekly basis and I love playing it.

I have owned a few nice guitars inlcuding a PRS in the past but I must say, this American Strat is already my favorite.. I could not be more happy. Anyway, just thought I would share...

I think I mentioned something to you about American Stratocasters awhile back when you told us about buying a guitar...

Some American Strats are really nice, especially one that is properly set up...

The quality varies from one to the next, and I've seen some bad ones, but overall they are nice for a fair price...

    I have several...

The best strats are Japanese built Squiers from the 1980s.

          No, the Japanese Stratocasters...

Actually, the only difference is the Squier logo...

The current Japanese fenders are of equal or better quality...

              Elvis,

You did and thank you.. I will probably be asking some questions on a good tube combo amplifier soon. I am using an older cheap Fender at present..

              Thanks for the advice..

No. Tokai's strats made in the early 1980s are the best.
