I'm new here and your thread is the first one that has made any sense. Yep, Sammy's back. It's gotta be delt with. I like both DLR and Sammy(flame on). They were in the band equal amounts. I think that DLRs lounge lizard act was great, but it got old. I doubt if the the band would have survived without him getting a makeover. The choice to replace front men by VH the first time was super risky, but IMO it paid off, since the band survived nearly another decade. Only a fortune teller can say whether it would have lasted thru the late 80's and 90's with DLR still in 70's style. The second replacement sucked, though. Sorry, if I only half fit in here. I like 'em both. Listen to 'em both. But, I will be in Greensboro on opening night cheering them on, while some of you guys are still living in the "glory days" that ended 20 years ago listening to the "magic" on yer 8 tracks and cassettes. I can understand and respect you not liking the VHII stuff, but what is all the uptight anger about? Ranting about something that you can't change is pointless.Last edited by xxxflhrci; 04-18-2004, 11:40 AM. -

Ohh no Van Hager are back together, I'm sure everybody on this forum is dealing with it........ by insulting Sammy.Rumour has it that Van Halen have continued in recent years with a new lead signer, but since there 1985 breakup, nobody involved has ever recaptured that spontaneous cheeseburger magic!
