Just heard on the radio that Paul & his wife Heather are calling it quits.

They're blaming "the media". While I don't have much use for the media these days, I'd have to disagree. Linda was the love of his life, and I doubt anyone can ever fill those shoes. Or even one of them, in Heather's case.

OK, that was horrible, I'll admit it. :(

Paul McCartney Statement

Wednesday, 17th May 2006 (http://www.lse.co.uk/ShowbizNews.asp?Code=AX172462S&headline=paul_mccartney_statement)

http://www.thefixonline.com/pictures/ezine/mccartneys.jpg

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Paul McCartney has denied his estranged wife, Heather Mills, married him for his money.

The former Beatle announced today that the pair have seperated after four years of marriage.

In a statement on his website - paulmccartney.com - the singer wrote: "By now you will have probably heard the unfortunate news that Heather and I are going our separate ways.

He fumed: "It's been suggested that she married me for the money and there is not an ounce of truth in this. She is a very generous person who spends most of her time trying to help others in greater need than herself.

"All the work she does is unpaid so these stories are ridiculous and completely unfounded. I'm very sad to see that some insensitive people would choose a moment like this to spread these vicious rumours."

The 'Love Me Do' songwriter told fans the split was a last resort - but feel it is the best way to protect their child, two-year-old Beatrice.

He wrote: "Having tried exceptionally hard to make our relationship work given the daily pressures surrounding us, it is with sadness that we have decided to go our separate ways.

"Our parting is amicable and both of us still care about each other very much but have found it increasingly difficult to maintain a normal relationship with constant intrusion into our private lives, and we have actively tried to protect the privacy of our child."

He concluded: "We hope, for the sake of our baby daughter that we will be given some space and time to get through this difficult period."

First off...because Paul is such a good person, he didn't ask for a pre-nup, so they're saying she could get as much as 500 million!!! It makes me sick to think that money he made writing those classic tunes is going to a whore he married four years ago!

Anyway....A lot of people slag Wings, but if you picked up Wingspan, the career retrospective album, you saw how many great, catchy, hit songs that band had! Yeah, Paul was the poppy, love song guy ( something he'd slap John and Joke-o about on "Silly Love Songs" (monster hit by the way)...but he has writtem so many great songs with the Beatles, Wings and solo...unreal the talent there!

I have mixed feelings on this.

First up she had a kid by him, second it's not like California she won't get half and third what the fuck is he doing with his one and a half billion anyway?

He should have given 95% of it away to good causes by now.

So some goes to his monopod ex rather than his kids.

Who cares?

Cheers!

What a bitch !

I have to admit I used to ponder their pre-sex dirty talk..
Was it like,

Paul: Hey Sexy ! - Spread your leg !

Hmmmmmmm

Sesh, good call on the money, even Billy Gates gives a good chunk to
charity...

We don't know that he doesn't donate a lot of money to charity. I'm sure he's sent many a dollar to his now ex-wife's landmine charity. He's into animal rights, so money goes there I'm sure. And considering Linda died of cancer, he likely donates some to that.

I don't know how much he gave to charity but it was defintely less than 1% of his wealth as he didn't appear on the Sunday Times Giving Index http://extras.timesonline.co.uk/pdfs/strlgivingindex.pdf

I think thats disgusting. Then again most rich people are just as bad.

When he and Linda had that organic food they marketed, didn't a large chunk of that money go to charity?
