It's more horrible than you think. I have 2 mother plants from which I reguarly remove appendages. These appendages, or chilrdren, are brought to maturity in front of their of mothers in a veritable "fattening" up process. At a certain, precise moment, the children are all hacked to death and their individual appendages trimmed and hung to dry. Meanwhile the mother plants have healed and are ready to provide a new batch of children to suffer the same fate. Eventaully all the children are dry and ready to be smoked, often right in front of the mothers.

It used to a ritual my friends and I relished (even using that word hurts now) in but I will never again be able to do these things with a clear conscience. I'm guilty of so much gangacide I fear I'll never fly high again.

This scourge does NOT need to photosynthesize. The picture is kind of generalized, as this fucking no-good-for-nothing plant species can often appear vine-like, and camoflauge itself among harmless weeds that also need to die.

I was weed-eating not too long ago, being extremely careful not to murder any valuable flora (think Don Henley with a beer buzz). I casually started wrecking an encroaching stand of KUDZU...about 5 minutes in, there it was. It had been there all along....carefully lurking underneath the Jimmy Carter canopy. I knew what I had to do and did it.... rinsing with the waterhose....applying joy dishwashing liquid with no scrubbing.

It didn't fucking matter.

By the next afternoon, I had festering welps everywhere. Arms, legs.....my FUCKING BALLS!!!

That's right, I must have scratched my balls while weed eating....I didn't try to teabag the KUDZU.

I had to ingest PREDNISONE for a week....fucking scratching and bleeding and shit!

If I had my way, SUMAC would be the victim of my methodically planned PLANTICIDE...and cease to exist FOREVER.

I only discovered last year that poison ivy is not just some little plant with 3 leaves....it is an actual vine that grows up the side of trees, fences, etc. and looks like it has brown fuzz on it:

Anyway, I was clearing an area where one of these was growing up an old fence post.

I hacked it down, and drug it over to the burn pile to burn.

Later that day my arms began to itch, as well as my eyes.

Next morning I woke up with one eye swollen shut.

Did some research and discovered the error of my ways.

I have since that time murdered many of these plants, and I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL KILL MANY MORE IN MY LIFETIME!

As for the other shrubbery....it is not murder, or genocide...it is "ritual sacrifice".

And I practice it daily, though I buy the remains of plants from somewhere else.
I prefer not to raise and kill them myself...just "Smoke The Bones".
