    Ac/dc

"Powerage" coming up on the uderrated albums thread got me thinking.

What is the best AC/DC album?

Most people would say "Highway to Hell" or "Back in Black", but for me they were a little too polished (although I still fuckin' love em)

For me "Let There be Rock" was always what 'DC were about, but "Powerage" is a close second

    What does anyone else think?

Secondly, the press writes 'DC off after 1981. Are there some forgotten gems in theri back catologue, or have they just been treading water since?

I think Dirty Deeds is probably their tightest album. I love every track. Powerage and High Voltage follow close behind.

Can't speak to anything from the Brian Johnson period as It's not really my thing.

My favorite is Powerage, then Highway to Hell.

Dirty Deeds is a great album though and has Bon in great form (particularly on Big Balls.) Squealer is also a great song, as is Ride On, Love at First Feel, most tracks really. There's Gonna Be Some Rockin' is the only track I don't really like. And lets not forget Ain't No Fun which is the albums best track for just having "Get Your fucking jumbo jet outta my airport."

"Powerage" is my favourite although I have a big soft spot for "For those about to rock" as it was my first taste of AC/DC and I fuckin` loved it.

From Bon's days, I think "Powerage", "Let There Be Rock" and "Highway to Hell" are my favourites.

From Brian's era, I'd go with "Back In Black" (although, I do think it's overrated), "The Razor's Edge" and "Stiff Upper Lip".

I'd have to say Powerage is the best from start to finish, with Let There Be Rock following close behind. From the Johnson era I honestly believe the best album is Flick of the Switch which is hard and raw with great songs from start to finish.

I really like pretty muck everything they did up through 1988's Blow Up Your Video, but it fell off significantly after that. They are by far by favorite band of all time and I have been listening to all their albums consistantly for the last 10 years, so I feel I am a bit of an authority on the subject.

Well, I might as well close this thread now.

You can't go wrong with the first six albums, but if I had to pick just one, I'd have to go with.....

...the original Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.

Atlantic records was fucking INSANE to release their worldwide version of this album without the song "Jailbreak" What the FUCK were they thinking??

And the American division was even crazier.... they didn't fucking release the album at all until 1981!!

I listened to "Dirty.." again last night.

It's a great record, but I think that other albums with BON were stronger
