Anyone into this stuff?


I'm no expert but there are some of these bands that I really love

Kyuss (one of the most underrated bands of the '90's)

Fu Manchu

Monster Magnet

Nebula

Hermano

Any know of any similar bands I can try out, I'd like to get into Masters of Reality but I've heard that their albums are hit and miss, any recomendations?

You got dig stuff that is essentially just Black Sabbath,

I really like Fu Manchu. The story goes the guitarist had a crazy custom big muff pedal that got stolen on a tour and the sound has never been the same since. The action is go is a cool record

Fu Manchu is great, but the older the stuff is, the better it is...they've gotten far too deep into this candy-ass power pop shit...the last great album out of them was Eatin' Dust, and everything since has been a bit worse than what came before it...

Most of my stoner stuff is doom...Iron Man, Candlemass, Saint Vitus, Electric Wizard, Cathedral, Sleep, Orange Goblin, High On Fire, The Sword, Count Raven, Debris Inc...that sorta thing...

I highly recommend Sleep's "Holy Mountain" for getting high to...I mean, personally, I don't know because I never touch marijuana, but based on what I've heard it's pretty cool beans...

You might have to ebay it...it's on the Earache label and has been out of print for a few years now...unless you've got a really good second hand shop close to you, your options for finding it in a store might be somewhat limited...

The Band Clutch I think are considered Stoner Rock.
The album to get is Robot Hive Exodus. It is a great album.

I don't know many stoner bands, safe KYUSS and LEADFOOT. The latter released a fucking great record in 1997, "Bring it on", which immediately became one of my all-time fave albums.
The riffs, the sound, and the lyrics are awesome.
I've quoted them quite a few times here. It really is a must. Trust me. :)

BTW, don't pay too much attention to the first song - when you get the album, maybe you could directly skip to the second tune.
Besides, if it had been an LP, "side 2" (tracks 7-12) would have been one of the most memorable ever (just IMO). :cool:
