There are really 3 there that are the epitome of what they did IMO...

Hendrix, Rhoads and SRV...

and when it gets down to those 3...I don't know what the fuck I'll do...

Bye, Jeff...

I went with Jeff, as he hasn't had the consistency of material that the others have.

If I was gonna judge on playing alone, he's up there with the best of them, and has always developed his style but remained unique.

however, I tried to name as many Beck songs as I could off the top of my head, and didn't get too far!

Angus has the least ability, but after all these years I never get tired of earing him play,

Some people just have a certain character...

How can we seriously kick Jeff Beck out, and so early, at that??
There's something I really can't get about the results of these polls - sorry, WARF.

Yeah I was surprised I voted for Beck so early, but look at the competition!

Beck is a legend, he just hasn't always had the material those other guys have.

I agree about Jeff not being as great a composer as the others, OK, but both as far as melody and technique, he smokes them all.

Maybe WARF, with all the friendship I feel for him, should have precised what criteria we were supposed to vote after - but he (WARF) must have his own good reasons, maybe it's a little more rock 'n' roll as his poll is. Anyway, it's funny, as well as interesting as it is.

There is no criteria... you decide which must go.... for whatever reason it may be...

It's OK. You start it all, so we just have to follow. It's just fun like that. :)

I am. But hell, I don't see any more resons to vote for Beck... It's a real awful choice at all events, just like choosing between your grand pas!

Dude, SRV is second on that lit to Hendrix IMO.

If my criteria was just playing (rather than material etc) I agree that Beck would be a lot higher up that list.

Brian May doesn't up there with those guys tho', IMO!

I'm gonna go with Page. He's a great guitar player, BUT: I just can't forget about him falling off his stool @ LIVE AID.

What a drunkathon!
