LOL i got em set up and i got mic's but no sound board. such is life for me Mark. i will try some Tape Deck trick with a home made mic from old Computer Speakers I'll see how that sounds. man what i do to amuse Myself on down time.

Half Alzheimers ? We did talk about it..

Im setting up a home recording setup at the moment.
The biggest drama for all home recording dudes, is of
course a good (non midi) drum backing track.

If I was you I would mic up that kit, how many mics
would you need ?? (I dont know how big your kit is)
Then record backing tracks for people and sell them
via the web, setup a basic webpage.. Its not that
hard..

If you can basically mic it all up, feed the mics to a
mixer, then feed the stereo out of the mixer to your
PC's soundcard, you are in business !

That link I gave you is awesome. Theres also a driver
you can download call Asio4all. This reduces latency (lag)
on older soundcards...

What spec is your PC ??

Home built job: a AMD Sempron 2300+1.5GHz with 1 gig ddr ram, SiS chip set, on board Sound and Video plus i put in a ATI all in wonder Video capture card, Win/XP with SP-2. th th th thats all folks. Whoops i forgot duh i'm stupid today, also WD 40 gig Hd A MadDog 16x52x16 DVD Burner i wanted Bang for what little money i could afford in 2003 all in all $500 and some change. it beats the WEBO TV years don't it, lmao. thats when i first joined the Army As Fargin Bastage. that was a good name i should have kept it.

That PC will do it !
With Drums you would not be doing a lot of effects
processing, so I reckon it would be fine.

Just download that software I put the link to.
Then google "asio4all" This is a driver that will
give your soundcard very low latency (lag).

Then you need a mixer I guess ? Obviously to
have one stereo stream to input to the PC.

How many mics ??

what they are is PM-338 Dynamic the make is Jin-Jue . i call them my (P) ersonal (M)istake 338 duhnamic they can pick up high's real good. i am making a bass drum mic. wanna hear something funny? back in 1983 i made up a speaker outa 5 gallon (i got a pic somewhere around here or at sues house) paint buckets i stacked them 5 feet high and put a 10 inch speaker in both of the buckets towers and used them as a separate bass only booster off of my old Marantz stereo amp let me tell ya those SOB's kicked. my friend told me i should get a patened on them i said who wants paint bucket speakers. well guess what they got now....yeah fuckin bass CANNONS i went nuts. another wild thing i did was put a speaker in a 8 inch tom-tom and made a mic for the bass drum i could never get it to keep from spiking..... but they have that now too. so guess what this next thing i'm makin is going to a paten on it and sell it . no more Fargin around.
