Although I'm not a very big fan, Jimi should win. I know a lot of guitarists today who just dismiss him as overrated. But, he was so far ahead of his time in terms of technique and skill.

Without him, a lot of the guitar players we know and love today would not be here to be known and loved.

Also, Hendrix thought in a completly different way to all other players, which just gives his playing something else!

If it wasn't for Jimi we wouldn't even have a SRV, so I say it's pretty obvioius who should be the winner...

Stevie is to Jimi as Keith is to Chuck Berry.

Stevie might have been a guitarist without Jimi's influence, but he would have been a much different style of player. As would all the others in the Austin musical scene who were in turn influenced by SRV
