anybody seen wedding crashers?? you know how at the beginning the two protagonists are trying to get chicks and they use the "I've been in the foreing legion/mount everest/etc. we lost a lot of men out there" as a pick up line?!?
doesn't that remind you of ain't talkin' 'bout love where dave goes "I've been to the edge. I've stood and looked down. You know I lost a lot of friends there. I got no time to mess around"
i guess somebody listened to a lot of van halen before writing the story for the movie! :P
