NEW YORK -- Beyoncé Knowles had several surprise guests at a recent dinner, where members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals peppered the pop star with questions about her fur use.

An eBay auction offered fans a chance to dine with Knowles, and PETA secretly placed the winning bid. At the dinner Wednesday at the chic Nobu 57 restaurant, members of the animal rights group confronted Knowles about wearing fur coats and using fur in her clothing line, House of Dereon.

A video of the encounter on TMZ.com shows a stunned Knowles, unresponsive to the allegations and appealing to others in her group to react. The PETA guests, whose tone was conversational but persistent, are eventually kicked out of the restaurant.

A spokesman for the singer told The Associated Press on Friday that Knowles, 24, had no comment on the incident.

PETA, known for its untraditional methods of raising awareness about animal rights, said it had previously attempted to reach Knowles through faxes, letters and rallies outside her concerts.

I think it was wrong of the restaurant to remove PETA, though...they made the winning bid and by the article weren't harassing her, just asking questions that the stupid cunt couldn't answer. They didn't do anything wrong in my eyes.

I agree animals should be treated humanely.

But PETA assholes take it past the point of reason.

Bitching at people who wear leather or fur is a complete waste of time. It is an exercise in futility.

No matter how much they bitch, the animals are NOT going to come back from the dead and demand their fur or skin back.

Even if they did, obviously it could never work, unless they reattached them with super-glue or staples or something.

I emailed PETA a while back. I was very polite. I stated that yes, I am a meat eater, but that I did not approve of some of the ways that livestock were treated. I asked if there was any way to help that particular cause, donate, send letters, emails, boycott certain brands, etc....

Rather than answer my question, they screamed at me for eating ANY meat. Too extreme for me. It's a shame they don't see that. They would be taken much more seriously if they were more rational & realistic. Probably get our food animals raised/treated/killed more humanely as well.

It's all about the value you place on like. It's ok to kill plants and vegetables, because they are not important as animals in the eyes a PETA, and all meat eaters are doing is saying that they are more important than animals.
