Damn, the legends just keep dying! :( It should have been someone who deserves it, like Michael Bolton.

Man that is fucked up.

I saw them on 2 different tours in the early 80s....Flirtin' With Disaster, and one other one....

Only Southern Rock band that I was really impressed by.

From what I understand, they out touring right now with a new vacalist.

I don't think there are any originals in the lineup!

There aren't...Danny Joe died last year or something, and he was the only one even remotely involved with what calls itself "Molly Hatchet" these days...I think he picked out the new band and served in the studio, too...

If memory serves, but it was close to that...

Co-founding Molly Hatchet member Dave Hlubek returned to the fold in January of 2005 and is enjoying his second stint with the band. Dave looks forward to more recording and touring with the 21st century Molly Hatchet lineup.

Rounding out the band is the rock-solid rhythm section of seasoned bassist Tim Lindsey (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and 5th-year member Shawn Beamer, a powerhouse drummer whom his fans have nick-named "Thunder".

Bah.

With the lineup THAT FAR removed from the original thing, why even fucking bother? Basically it's a Dave Hlubek Molly Hatchet cover band...

Just saw this post. Sad deal. Hatchet was real ass kickers back in the 80's. With Danny Joe gone, they should hang the thing up though.

What's in the water down in Jacksonville? It's like Detriot, for some of the finest Musicians /Groups.
