    Oh No!!!!

    HORRIBLE NEWS!!!!

    :eek:

    ORLANDO, Fla. - The Backstreet Boys are saying goodbye to the oldest member of their band, according to a statement posted on the group's Web site Saturday.

    Kevin Richardson, 33, said he was leaving to purse other interests.

    "It was a very tough decision for me but one that was necessary in order to move on with the next chapter of my life," Richardson said in the statement.

    The Orlando-based pop band ushered in a new teen-music craze in the late 90's, buoyed by their soulful harmonies, synchronized dance steps, clean-cut good looks and charm. Their three albums sold a total of more than 35 million copies.

    The group took a hiatus in 2001 after A.J. McLean's highly publicized entry into rehab forced the band to postpone their "Black & Blue" tour. They reunited to release the album "Never Gone" in 2005.

    The remaining members, McLean, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, and Brian Littrell, said they had no plans to replace Richardson.

    "The door will always be open for him to return to the Backstreet Boys. We wish him the all the best in his future endeavors," they said on the band's Web site.

    The group plans to return to the studio this weekend to begin work on their next album, which is due later this year.

    Calls and an e-mail sent to the group's publicist, Sonia Muckle, were not immediately returned to The Associated Press on Saturday.
    Twistin' by the pool.

    And people here should care?
    Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

          I guess "OH NO!!!", "HORRIBLE NEWS!!!", and ":eek:" didn't really do much to let in on the fact that my posting this:

          1. is done in jest;

          2. is also somewhat a commentary on it's own part about what sort of musical news and/or entertainment news merits reporting on the front page these days;

          and

          3. is here so that people could: A) make fun of the Backstreet Boys; B) Make fun of what's newsworthy these days; C) make fun of boy bands in general; D) goof on Kevin Richardson's future career prospects as a solo artist (which I'm sure he'll undoubtedly pursue).

          I guess "OH NO!!!", "HORRIBLE NEWS!!!", and ":eek:" DOES actually do a lot to insinuate that I, Bueno Bob, believe that fans of classic Van Halen and David Lee Roth will find interest, value and enjoyment in a thread such as this.

          Thank you, Coyote, for bringing to my attention that classic Van Halen/DLR fans won't be interested in this; and more so that any and all future attempts to post something lighthearted in regards to the state of music entertainment news these days are ill-advised on my part. I appreciate the feedback.

                He should fire his new publicist -Leaving the Band- to persue other
                interests doesn't stimulate the kind of interest he is looking for.

                He could have gotten the same response by having a press conference to anounce - I have chosen at this time to do little or nothing-.thankyou there are little sandwiches in the mezzanine...

                I guess, he feels that he must anounce this tragedy and i'm sad,what
                will we all do ?

                            The boys should have a lovefest reunion world
                            tour in about 72 hrs.

                            I'm shure they could have a new cd out in that amount of time
                            after all they don't, play, write, produce, promote,or do anything
                            that would slow down the 50 people behind the scenes that are the real band.It may take a extra day to learn a new cheer routine or whatever thier new dance step will be.
