Actually, it's not. It's the Head of Christ portrait that was painted in 1941 by a guy named Warner Sallman.

It's pretty much the modern standard portrait of Christ, 15 million known copies had been made by 1945, so it's not out of the question that the Mormons might have used it. But they certainly didn't originate it.

WOW!!! I did not know that. Yes, that portrait is in many a Mormon ward house. I always thought it was done for them.
