    Ladies Nite In Buffalo

Talk about the high cost of lovin'
I think I hear freedom drummin' it seems
    Give me your heart
And I'll give you the stars
    "Yeah right," she says
    "Maybe in your dreams"

    Heat wave blast,
    Kids are screamin'
    Pavement's hot
    The sidewalk's steamin'
    Only me, happens every time
    Thinkin' 'bout you and me
    Hello, good-bye

Jazz it up or play it slow
It's still the only song I know
    It's 2 a.m. and traffic's slow
    Another ladies' night in Buffalo

I was list'nin' to the DJ sayin'
    "Put that storm behind"
    Well, the winds can blow
    Bad or better
    I don't mind some
    Stormy weather tonight, no

    I can feel it
    The heat wave blast,
    Kids are screamin'
    Pavement's hot
    The sidewalk's steamin'
    Only me, happens every time
    Thinkin' 'bout you and me
    Hello, good-bye

    Put the top down
    Hit the road
Sing the only song we know
    It's 2 a.m. the traffic's slow
It looks like ladies' night in Buffalo

Yeah, I got kind of a sense of deja vu
I could swear I've seen you somewhere before
You don't think you ever seen me somewhere before
    Do you, huh?
Must have been two other people

    I know days are safe
    I didn't want to have a fight
It's too far to drive back, baby
I wanna drive her home tonight

You can jazz it up or play it slow
It's still the only song I know
    It's 2 a.m. and traffic's slow
    Another ladies' night in Buffalo

Well it ain't much all right I know
But it's the only song I know
    2 a.m. and traffic's slow
    Another ladies' night in Buffalo
This must be ladies' night in Buffalo

I recall a brief interview with Steve Vai in which he said that he sort of pieced together the song little by little, and that it took a while to write...

Great groove on this song, and Roth's delivery from soft to louder, is exceptional.

      Vai's solo is also strong

            Here tis, y'all...Hell Yes!!

Well, here I'm rollin' down another sunny highway,
been in the sun too long.
I'm goin' coconuts but least I'm goin' my way,
I'll prob'bly be here when that sun goes down.

I wanna live it up, wanna quit my job,
tell the boss to go to hell.
I ain't complainin', you do the best with what you got.
I know you're laughin' 'cause it's easy to tell

            I'm goin' crazy,
            goin' crazy,
            oo, from the heat.

Remember dancing on the pier last night?
Got drunk and fell into the water.
The big policeman wasn't laughing, didn't blink an eye,
he said, "You're messin' with the mayor's daughter."

Don't tell me, "Give it up", too busy getting down,
            I learned my lessons well.
You get it goin' and you don't never stop.
I know you're laughin' 'cause it's easy to tell

            I'm goin' crazy,
            goin' crazy,
            oo, from the heat.

            Goin' crazy,
            goin' crazy,
            oo, from the heat.

            Goin' crazy,
            goin' crazy,
            oo, from the heat.

            Goin' crazy,
            goin' crazy,
            oo, from the heat.

Ize been crankin' this tune up to 11 lately...what a CUT!!! Screamin' Stevie Vai had the sound down fo' this bad to the bone/you been gone too long/another woman is on the throne rocker!!!!!! HELL YEAH!!

and Daves voice sounds cool as mint in this numba

If I had to pick one song to convert a non-Dave fan, Ladies Night in Buffalo would be it.

A hard rock fan would probably appreciate other tunes, but a hard rock fan would probably already appreciate Dave.

I'm talking about someone who doesn't dig this kind of music, and has pre-conceptions about it.

I think this song is the one that would win 'em over - it's irresistable.
