Fucking great DVD.

I watched it last night.

Notice during Ace's guitar solo someone threw a frisbee and it hit the top of his guitar neck....it is not in clear view, and of course it happesn really fast, but it is neat to see.

Pretty good performance by them if you ask me.

I saw them only 2 weeks before that show.

I was just thinking about how some rumors have stated that KISS totally re-recorded their live tracks in the studio, save the drums and audience noise, on Alive! and AliveII. This band, for all their limitations, could play live very well and did so on any boot I've ever heard. I know they "dressed" up the music, and filled in flubs and missed choruses; but love 'em or hate 'em, you have to give those guys credit of playing well when live.

Ok, I just did some research.

Here is a pro-level DVD cover for this show:

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/7285/kisscobodvd4rg.jpg

It is quite large, so if you are on dialup....prepare for a download of at least 5-10 minutes.

Also, I found out this is a brand new find. It was unknown or unavailable for almost 30 years.

Here is the blabbermouth article on it.

While KISS sit on their archives, yet another professionally filmed show from the 1970s surfaced this weekend, Detroit Cobo Hall, Jan. 29, 1977. With the original 3/4" master from this incomplete recording recently having been sold on eBay for $5,000, the material has materialized in a variety of forums in an attempt to keep bootleggers from profiting from the show. The high-quality show features the majority of a set from the "Rock And Roll Over" tour:

Detroit Rock City
Take Me
Let Me Go, Rock And Roll
Ladies Room
Firehouse
Makin' Love
I Want You
Cold Gin
Ace Guitar Solo
Do You Love Me?
Nothin' To Lose
Gene Solo
God Of Thunder
Peter Drum Solo
Rock And Roll All Nite

Missing are the show encores and the band intro and the first half of "Detroit Rock City". Still, this is one of the most exciting video finds in years. Collectors now have pro-shot videos from most of the original line-up tours. Screen shots are available for viewing on www.kissfaq.com.
