    The Worst Year Ever

I was just browsing a list of the albums to reach number 1. When I saw the albums of 1990 it is just mindboggling how bad the year was. Here is a listing of the number 1 albums in chronological order (weeks at #1 in parenthesis):

Phil Collins - ..but seriously (3)
Milli Vanilli - girl you know it's true (1)
Paula Abdul - Forever your girl (9)
Bonnie Raitt - Nick of Time (3)
    Sinead O'Conner - I Do Not want what I haven't got (6)
MC Hammer - Please Hammer DOn't Hurt Em (20)
New Kids on the Block - Step by Step (1)
Vanilla Ice - To the Extreme (8)

    Yeah, that sucked.

Unfortuntely it still sucks, with the days of rock bands like Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd topping the album charts for weeks being a distant memory.

Hey, let's not be too tough on Bonnie Raitt there. That woman can play guitar better than 90% of the 80's cheeseheads or 90's wish they were Pearlnirvanagardeninchains bands.

          Not really.....

2005 had Green Day, Ray Charles, Bruce Springsteen, Nine Inch Nails, and Audioslave at #1.

Certainly not the best year on record, but that's 5 artists with actual talent compared to 1 in 1990. So it's a slight improvement.

Yes, Bonnie Raitt is the only remotely positive thing on there.

With the exception of Audioslave...that list blows!

You really dig Ray Charles music?

Green Day? Little whiny emo bitches.

The Boss? Plays like the guitar like a gorilla fucking a football.

NIN? Trent hasn't done anything stella since Pretty Hate Machine.

Now, this might be the musician/childhood memories in the back of my mind talking, but those are still good albums.

                      My opinions:

                      1. 1986 list-I actually liked the Bon Jovi album. Yeah, I said it, so what
                      2. NIN in 05-Hand That Feeds was pretty good off With Teeth
                      3. Do I dig Ray Charles?-I listen to swing and big band, so what?
                      4. Lionel Richie-DOTS was pretty catchy
                      5. Top Gun-Danger Zone was pretty good
                      6. The Boss-Not big on the guitar playing, but he sings well

                      These are just my thoughts

While many of those albums are not my cup of tea, a few of them have sttod the test of time and are pretty respected in their genre. However, the combination of Hammer, Vanilla Ice, & Milli Vanilli is a total laughingstock to almost everyone nowadays
