Anyway, I really hope the car is nice...

      It should be...

It's a real race car and I'm going to make a nice street car out of it...

Similar to the '96 Neon I crashed...

u got to pick it up Im guessing?

how much did you pay for it?

It looks nice enough for sure. Id still be leary about big sales on ebay. Id research the fuck outta the seller then decide I guess.

nice car though. The only prob with the Neons from 95 to 99 were the headgakets were needing of replacment around the 100 K mark. Had a 95, blue, 2 door, loaded, real nice...Anyways, 6 months into driving it, I blew the head and it cost me a $1000 to replace. Seals et al.

Neon's are fun. When I took my Skip Barber Racing course at Lime Rock Park, we drove Neons. Those cars took a beating on the track day in and out and kept running strong... Fun to drive..

eBay is fine for big purchases as long as you research the seller a bit. Most are legit. Looks like a clean little car.

The head gasket problem was fixed in 1997...

The problem was a head bolt hole was not drilled deep enough into the block causing the bolt to bottom out and the head gasket unable to seat properly...

'95 was the worst, I believe...

The trick is to fix it before it needs it...

And I've done just that on one of my neons: New Timing belt, sprokets, head gasket, and Mopar has a head bolt that's slightly shorter that won't bottom out...

              I love 1st gen neons....
