LOL! Many Christians Addicted To Pornography

    Poll: Christians 'addicted to pornography'

    RAW STORY
    Published: Monday August 14, 2006

A poll conducted by what bills itself as "the world's most visited Christian website" indicates a surprising number of Christians are addicted to pornography, RAW STORY has learned.

"The poll results indicate that 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography," said Clay Jones, founder and President of Second Glance Ministries.

The group defines "addicted" as applied to pornography as use on an ongoing basis.

"We are seeing an escalation to the problem in both men and women who regularly attend church," said Bill Cooper, President of ChristiaNet.com.

The poll, conducted at ChristiaNet.com, used a self-selected sample, and is therefore not a scientific study. Over 1,000 users responded to the survey.

Additionally, 60% of the women who answered the survey confessed having "significant struggles with lust." 40% admitted to being "involved in sexual sin" in the past year.

"No one is immunized against the vice-grip clutches of sexual addictive behaviors," reads a release issued by the site. "The people who struggle with the repeated pursuit of sexual gratification include church members, deacons, staff, and yes, even clergy."

"There have been dynamic paradigm shifts in the behavior of Christians over the last four years," explained Jones. "Technology has allowed pornography to flood the market place beyond a controllable level." Jones' ministry provides intervention programs for churches and individuals.

The Devil has gotten into these people, and they are all going straight to hell to burn for all eternity! My brethren, turn from your wicked, sinful ways...fall on your knees and repent, ask the Lawd for forgiveness!

Organized religion uses guilt to control it's members who I tend to find childish and in need of a father figure in their lives.

Easy access to porn probably is like forbbden fruit and it tastes good and they indulge. Then because of their brainwashing they feel guilty and they ping pong around.

I looked at porn as a young addolecent. I occasionaly look at it now. There's perverts and sickos and then theres people with a natural, responsible understanding of their sex drive.

Does porn make rapists and child molesters? Debatable. Porn is a fantasy world and like all fantasy worlds, dwelling too much inside of it guarentees some sort of mind fuck.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Not all religions try to deprive their members of any and all sexual freedoms. When fundamentalist Christians get "addicted" to porn, it's probably because their religion makes them think all sex is sinful. Thus you need something over the TOP to feed that denial. After all, when you feel like you're unnaturally PURE, you have to become equally unnaturally SINFUL to get yourself back to status quo.

I want to go back into Christianity and get my hands on the repressed individual who snuck all this "sex is used only for procreation" crap in the litany of rules in the first place.

You would be going back along way. It was Paul's doing. He literally believed that ANY sex, even between a heterosexual married couple, was a "sin" because it interfered with one's relationship with God. The Catholic Church based their doctrine on that teaching and that's why their hierarchy to this day is officially celibate - though the altar boys and rumours of lezbo nuns tell a different story.

They also claim that Jesus himself never married, so there must have been something wrong with sexual relations. However, common sense says that Jesus, knowing he would be crucified at the age of 33, wouldn't put a wife and children through that kind of loss. As Jesus' own stepfather Joseph died when JC was a teenager, leaving Him to run the family carpentry business, and raise his younger siblings, Jesus knew first hand what it was like for children to lose a father.

My own opinion is that Paul had some deep seeded problems of his own. He could have been molested as a child, or a closet case, or whatever, but he clearly had a serious hangup with sex of any kind. That's just not healthy for any person, religious or not.

It's interesting you should post that because as far as I can make out Paul created the whole religion.
