Pt. 1, This is only like two quick clips of the sepcial that aired on VH1. about how when Kurt Cobain died, How much of a negative impact it had on the world of music.

They did several years, I heard they did an episode of 1984 I believe, And DLR is featured quite prominently, they basically say in that episode how Van Halen led Music through some dark time, and then They BECAME The Bands they led a Fight against, with hagar.

Could This be a Grunge/90's Alt. Youtube Thread? BTM thread? Maybe?

Again If you don't want to read the "I'm Happy Kurt's dead etc." Type of posts, only those that intelligently critique The era.

Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins - it was all rock music to me at the time, and remains so. All these bands were on major labels, all of them did promo videos...never really understood what was "alternative" about that. As much as Cobain may have disliked that Nirvana were going along with the same program many other bands had in terms of getting signed, having a hit record and touring/playing the MTV game to promote the group, fact is they went along with like like everyone else.

1994 a watershed year for music? Maybe. Wasn't really stunned when Cobain killed himself, and it never really held up to the Lennon comparisons of a "voice of his generation" for me then or now. I liked what I heard of Nirvana, thought their Unplugged thing was one of the better ones out of ANY band who used that format, but I suppose for me the bottom line is outside of a once-in-a-blue-moon listen to the Unplugged album, I don't bother with the groups music anymore...it's not like I hear it much on the radio anymore, either...and that "You Know You're Right" tune from a few years back, IMO, sounded pretty awful.
