I started in leeds and saw MSG,letterman.joes pub.boston, pnc and philly. The setlist is basically the same every night save an encore or swithching one of the new tunes. The band sounds fantastic and they are loud.daltrey sounds fantastic,he does leave some of the higher notes to Simo townshend.Pete is playing great guitar (im not comparing him to eddie.)mixes in acuostic(which his his greatest strenght with a blistering...ready for this eminence frontPino pallidino is louder in the mix this time around as he stands in the shadows as does john rabbit bundrick the keyboardist on and off since 79.Simon townshend rounds out the band with 2nd guitar duties and vocals and he is excellent. The backbone of this band and the person who keeps it amazing live is zak starkey.he leads townshend on endings and such and he is given a wide berth to play how he wants. He is amazing and the crowd fucking loves him..the new album endless wire come out on oct 31 and on the tour so far the setlist contains..
1.fragments
2.wire and glass mini opera
3.mike post theme
4.man ina purple dress
5.black widows eye
6. tea and theatre
i personally love the new stuff and it goes over 'pretty well' being the album isnt out yet.if i was doing the setlist i would throw in 2 or 3 rareities .I did get naked eye at pnc nj,which was the best show ive seen so far.everybody was relaxed and the crowd was pretty loaded on a beautiful night.the show is heavy on video usage and such during songs, old footage displays while the old fucks are singing some hits.
to cap it off i met Pete townshend finally and ill say this he is one of the most humblest and accommodating people ive ever met.He took every picture and signed everything as he should.ill try to put a pic in.anyway go see them if you can ,if you dig the who ,you will love the show.I know it aint the who but go and enjoy it.

Those prove that Townshend and to a lesser degree Daltrey were always the heart of the band. Yeah people can go on about Moon, but i never thought he was that special a drummer. What he brought to the table was his personality. I know many Who fans can't stand the early eighties stuff, but i like it and Entwhistle had some good stuff in there. But still i think Townshend and Daltrey have every right to call themselves The Who. If you don't think so imagine the situation turned upside down: If Daltrey and Townshend were dead and Moon and Entwhistle had survived and tried to call themselves The Who, would you accept it? Hell no! Townshend and Daltrey, for all intents and purposes, ARE The Who. Hell, if Daltrey died and Townshend went on tour as The Who i,d be pissed off, but ultimately i'd accept it.

Gotta admit though there will never be another drummer like him.

It was not just his personality.

His "style (that of ATTACKING his drums) was unique, and the Who would not EVEN have been his great with a "standard-issue" timekeeper.
