Anyone Have A Old 90's 8 MM Video Camera?

Thought I would ask around here, I'm looking for an old 90's 8mm video camera, with the piece of equipment where you can play the tapes on TV using a VCR, I used to have one but it was stolen, dont really want to use E-Bay, dont trust that much, the reason I'm looking is a have about 8-9 old tapes that I need tranfered to video tape or DVD, some of it is stuff of my late parents, alot of it too is me partying with my buddies back in the early 90's, there isnt anything besides the camera that you can use to convert those 8 mm tapes, trust me I have checked, and I'm not having any luck finding a camera, anyone here have one they would like to part with? Nobody uses those old cameras anymore, cant believe I'm having such a hard time converting these tapes, and I dont want to do it through some video store, I dont want some idiot watching tapes of me and my buddies getting stoned and shit you know what I mean?
Anyway, if anyone can help me out give me a shout, I would love to see the stuff with my parents again, alot of it I havent seen since I have taped it and I have next to nothing of my parents on video....

Yep, they are, there is nothing on the market you can use to convert them except a camera and stuff....

If they are 8mm, you are right. There's nothing out there. If they are mini VHS, you can get adapters for them that are full size VHS tapes. The mini's fit inside, and you can put it any VHS player.

OK, I checked, they are not VHS mini's, they are 8 mm, it says right on a few of them....

there were analog 8 mm video cameras, now there's the Digital 8's. i think the Digital 8's played the old analog 8 mm's too, maybe look around and see if you can find out. probably easier to find a Digital 8 cam now.

The only thing I could find about that question is this....
Another far cheaper digital option is Sony’s Digital8 format first introduced in March 1999. Basically, it’s an 8mm camcorder with digital circuitry. These popular camcorders let you record digital video and sound on Hi8mm tapes but they play 8mm and Hi8mm tapes as well. This format should be considered by anyone replacing 8mm or Hi8mm camcorders and is concerned about price. Digital8 camcorders, such as the DCR-TRV280 start at less than $299 and the top-of-the-line DCR-TRV480 for $349. It's an affordable way to go digital but in our opinion first-time buyers should opt for DV since there's barely a price premium.

The only problem is I dont want to spend 300+ on a camera I dont need just to transfer a few tapes, I aint rich these days....

Bug is right, there is NO Hi8 or 8mm VHS adapter:

                        I have VHS-C and a DVD camcorder...no Hi8...

I'll bet I could borrow one from one of my students, though...

"You have an 8mm or miniDV tape. You want to watch it, but you don't want to hook up those darn cables from your camcorder to your TV. So, in a burst of inspiration, you head down to the local electronics store to buy an 8mm/VHS adapter."

Funny part is a did exactly that, and the first guy told me they had that, but I forgot my wallet and decided to come back the next day, I got a different guy next time and he told me the truth, that there is no such product.....

That sucks that ya gotta have the cam or the tapes are useless.

Maybe there is an analog to digital transfer shop in your area that could do it. I forgot what its under in the yellow pages...maybe "video duplication"
