    BOSS RC2 Loop Sample Pedal

    BOSS RC2 Loop Sample Pedal
No company creates Loop Stations like BOSS. Already in heavy demand around the world are the twinsize BOSS RC-20XL and the deluxe, extra-wide RC-50. Now comes an ultra-compact member of the RC family, the RC-2. Housed in a compact-pedal case, the RC-2 puts a surprising amount of features in a stompbox.

Up to 16 minutes of record time

Loop Quantize for perfect loop timing

Realistic Guide-Tone drum patterns built in

    Easy, logical overdubbing and navigation

    Undo / Redo function

11 phrases can be stored and recalled

AUX input to capture phrases from external audio device

    External pedal input (stop/tempo)

    Record, Layer, Loop, & Store

The RC-2 can record and store up to 16 mono minutes of audio, either from your own instrument or other external input devices, such as MP3 players / recorders. Each of your layered loop creations can be stored to one of 11 internal patch preset locations.

    Feature Rich
It records, layers, and loops, but the RC-2 also provides a wealth of other handy and powerful features, such as a jam-along Rhythm Guide, Auto Start, Tap Tempo, Loop Quantize, and Undo / Redo.

    Friendly Operation
In traditional BOSS fashion, the RC-2 benefits from a clean and friendly user interface. As powerful as this little Loop Station is, it’s a dream to operate. Thanks to its clearly labeled buttons and knobs, the RC-2 puts everything directly under your fingertips, with no hidden menus or commands to impede the creative process.

    Pedalboard Ready
Thousands of guitarists rely on BOSS’ ultra convenient BCB-series pedalboards for organizing their effects pedals. Due to its standard compact-pedal shape and size, the RC-2 fits perfectly alongside other pedals. Great for fast setup and convenient transportation.

Hmmmm...I get the feeling I'm gonna see more guys sampling on the fly in clubs very soon..................

    Hey thats cool Matt !

I wonder if this could be a good cheap way
to help the decision on purchasing the RC-50 ?
I wonder if the quantizing etc is the same as
    the bigger unit ??

    Hmmmmm....

I was going to wait until December and buy one
when Im in the US, but I might chase one of these
down. Have you tried it ??

I haven't tried one yet Mark.....

I bet it is cool...though the RC-50 is outrageous....

I've got the RC-20.....and am still finding uses for it....

I'm gonna pick up an A/B box....and use the sampler thru a seperate amp.....

That way I can solo thru my MARSHALL over the sample playing back thru my PEAVEY amp..............

Have you tried importing a real drum track on the RC-20
and seeing if the quantizing works with your guitar loops ??
        (Not midi drums)

        (Just wondering)

Ive never seen anything that could do this well, that
would impress the hell out of me..

          Nope...haven't tried that.......

I'm the kind of guy who has a difficult time getting the thing to work...period!

Dosen't help that I bought it off ebay & didn't get a manual on how to operate the thing....

I'm slowly figuring it out though.......

I made an enquiry with Roland, and apparently the RC-50 will
do this. Thats why Im curious as to whether they use the same
smarts in the single stomp box size.

Looking at the controls, I cant see how you would adjust it ?
Unless it just auto-locks somehow ?
If it does that, what loop/layer does it use as a reference for
            the timing ?? Interesting stuff..
I saw a demo on this on the net last night, I should have grabbed
the link.. But that dude was just roughly punching in layers,
and it was all synching together...
He wasnt adjusting anything. So perhaps it is auto ??
Wonder what algorithms it uses and how it decides
which track/loop that determines the overall timing ??

(I know, sometimes I think too much)

I actually looked at this manual to get an idea
                  of what it can do..

Looks like a cool toy, my wife used to work at guitar centre
(while finishing UNI) I think we still get the staff discount
when we visit... The RC-50 does a fair bit more..
Much longer recording time, stereo tracks and real-time
tempo adjusting... Things that I think I would use..

Incredible....you can eliminate the 2nd guitar player!!!

I dig creating trippy loops to play over..........

Yeah, I think looking at the specs on the RC-2 v RC-50,
Im going to get the RC-50... They are selling em at
Musiciansfriend.com for about $499 at the moment...

I think I saw them priced at about $800 American originally...

Thats worth upgrading...I'll have to think about that one for a while
