Why is it that i've been coming here for months and I can get the main forum pages to open but when it comes time to go reading a thread the page NEVER LOADS!

is there some kind of malicious script shit ya'll got going on the board that is different from 99.9% of every other forum out there?

i'd like to play sandbox with ya'll but jeez louise, getting a thread to open is harder than giving up smoking!

The dreaded white screen of Death, Mr Hain ??

I think it involves some software updating.
Sometimes web hosting companies upgrade
their versions of web servers, and it can upset
certain web based applications.

I think this could be what has happened here,
and obviously Sarge hasnt had a chance yet
to update the version of Vbulletin we are running..

When it happens to me,
I just hit the "Back" button on the browser
and try again. For me, at worst it always kicks
in on the third attempt ....

Usually it fucks up the first time, then the second
try (after hitting back) works....

Its a fookin pain in the ass.. (But with some
jerking around it will work)

It's that 14.4 modem you're using.....

I upgraded last week to a 28.8 and can load pages in UNDER 15 minutes now...

So did you have to tinker with the baud rate
on those old UARTS with that 386 ??

Try throwing in a coupla 16550's and you might
get down to ten minutes per page !!!

My Apple II opens up pages in about 11 minutes. Then again, I just bought the hamsters inside the base a new wheel, so that might have a lot to do with it.
