ROFL!! I guess they're trying to replicate the song dynamics of The Pixies and Nirvana. You know sing the verse and scream the chorus. Obviously the results sre ridiculously poor, but hey at least they make you laugh!

Ok, musically, this had potential. Until the first "fast" section comes in. Ruined. (Vocals could've used some masculinity...)

And why does nearly every Emo/Screamo crapfest have that "When I was young" mentality? How old are you now? 90?

Very true, I just don't get that mentality. Also, this isn't screamo, it's emo. Theirs a difference. If you want screamo, you've gotta look for groups like Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, and The Bled.

My 13 year old daughter loves 30 seconds to Mars and My chemical Romance....I hear these two songs all the time...first time I've seen the video though.
I much rather that than the rap crap most of her friends listen too.

She loves VH, Metallica and AC/DC too...so all is well.

Screamo/Emo crap is the afterbirth of the Grunge era. This shit's the equivalent of an 8 year old having a screamin shit fit.
Just pathetic !

hmm... I'm having troubles finding funny aspects of this.. It's all plain annoying Shit.

But Of course, it is so pathetic that it could be considered as funny..

Song writing for the average screamo group.

"Hey guys how shall we do this one"

"ermmm, how about we go soft heavy, soft heavy, put a funny little breakdown in the middle, then soft heavy, soft heavy."

"Ok."

Ah, As I Lay Dying, everybody around here seems to like them. Their a Christian metalcore/screamo, but you can't really tell. They seem to go for the heavy verse/soft chorus thing

This crap is all my son listens to.

In Old school, he likes Thrash metal. No "hair metal" please. THANK GOD!

Be on the Look out for a band called "KillSwitch Engage". He just got their latest and in listening to it, I think it'll have a coupla tunes that will go mainstream. They've toned it down a bit and got a few catchy hooks.

Oy vey, is this what our parents felt like when we started playing VH?

I've got most of their records (haven't got the new one yet), but they annoy me. They compromise their music by doing the melodic chorus after the angry verse, which means that the songs loose momentum, and become formulaic.

Compared to thrash '85-'89, most screamo bands aren't heavy at all...

Well of course you're right. But it's because you "know" music.

Kids are eating this album up. All of his friends have it on repeat.

He might get into some old school stuff in the future...

Kind of Catchy that new tune, but... I hate the intro, the outro and the bridge.

Including the refrain, chorus & every instrumental part.

Hey, don't lump in the White Stripes with those wussies! Jack can kick ass in bar brawls and is friends with Iggy Pop. So I think they have quite a bit more credibility. Did I mention that Meg has a nice set of jugs! :D

Douglas T.

I'm not overly excited about these new bands either ... it's just about all the music world has to offer the other days! And yes the White Stripes kick all their asses! Sometimes there are songs that mark a certain era for me and the Black Parade has made it's nitch!

90% of this so called Emo shit sounds like the same group of Musicians (if you can call them that), with a lot of hired faces the kiddies can worship. To a lot of these kids it's more about image than music anyway. It sure make's for big business at hot topic and mall record stores.
This kind of thing wouldn't be anything new in the Recording Industry. Maybe I'm wrong but somtimes I wonder. Some of this garbage sounds way to similar.

i've been into heavy shit for 15 years. It's not an age thing, there are a lot of new bands I like as much as the classics.

But most the screamo stuff is shit - generic and meaningless, played with sentimentality rather than soul.

End of.

Tiki-Tom
12-15-2006, 02:17 AM
I wouldn't call that Emo or "screamo" shit Heavy, When it come's to that it is an age thing. Kiddie's love that Emo crap. For the most part that's the age group that's into it.

binnie
12-15-2006, 03:36 AM
Nope it ain't heavy, especially when I think back to thrash 85-89.....
