And this shit's supposed to be funny?
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

All of those four 'comics' on the Blue Collar Comedy tour are frauds.

Those guys are richer than shit, all came from upper-middle class backgrounds to start with, and they all milk the "I'm a redneck just like you" schtick to a bunch of poor slobs who don't know any better, sos they can get at their money.

The Larry The Cable Guy character is mildly amusing, but just hearing that "Git-R-Done" phrase wore out its welcome by the third time HE said it in his act, never mind the 10 millionth time some dumbass on the street repeated it.

Michael Richards' current act is far more entertaining.

            Git 'er Done!

(CBS) Country comedian Dan Whitney, better known as Larry the Cable Guy to millions of fans, blames "out of control" political correctness for the anti-gay, anti-intellectual and racist labels his humor sometimes attracts.

60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon interviews the popular comic this Sunday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

"(Political correctness) has gotten way out of control," Whitney tells Simon. "I really think we are at a point in this country where people really need to take the thumb out of their mouth and grow up a little bit and realize there's a lot bigger problems out there than what a comedian did a joke about."

The word "retarded" has fallen out of favor in most circles but is used by Whitney's Larry the Cable Guy character for laughs. "I don't mean any disrespect by it at all. It's just a joke. It's part of what I'm doing," says Whitney.

As far as the anti-intellectual charge goes, it's also just a joke, says Whitney, on those who accuse him of it. "Anti-intellectual! What the hell? They don't know nothin' … I laugh that off. It's stupid to even say that," he tells Simon.

With the highest-selling CD and a top grossing comedy tour, Whitney is raking in the money along with the laughs and is America's king of comedy right now.

Got any pics with Sam Kinison or Rodney Carrington? Those are my favorites! Especially since Sam recorded the "Have you seen me lately" album in Florida.

I would have loved to see SAM! To late for that tho! Comedians I've met; Gallagher, Howey Mandell, Chong & Larry! I've ran into Larry many many times! Once in an elevator where I acted as if I didn't recognize him because he lost a ton of weight! This was back in the "What the hell is this Russia?" era! I say "Damn son you've lost a ton of weight .... I didn't even recognize ya!" he musta liked my comment because he invited me out to his Landcruiser and gave me an arm load of shirts hats and cd's! Git 'er done!

                      Whitney's right and wrong.
What Richards did wrong was say his shit in anger. There wasn't a punchline.

But he's right in that we're taking PC too far and giving people a reason to be upset when there's no harm intended.

Well I'm not offended, I just think his material as David Whitney just plain sucks and some of his Larry the cable guy fart jokes get old after a while. Heck if I was in David Whitney's situation, I'd start an alter ego to help my career. Mine would be a hardcore country honky-tonk singer named Jim Brute.

Character comedy is only funny for a short time.

I can't wait for him to come out of the closet.

He's got to be gay as hell.
