If he dies, it's natural causes. Over the years, I've come to understand that ALL hamster deaths are natural causes - as there seems to be none that has died of what for US are natural causes.

Microwave oven, thirst, fans, jumping out of 4th floor windows, flames, cats, babies, electricity, egg nog... hamsters have the most fun and varied deaths.

Cheers! :bottle:

If the hamster goes in his wheel for a while then it could get really messy!

I used to fasten parachutes to my hampsters and throw them into the air! every now and then the shute would fail. My hampster ended up walking in circles for the duration of his life! You know what is really fun tho'! set the hampster on a turntable and start it at about 33 RPM's Then take the hampster off and watch him stumble around all dizzy as hell!:D

ya have to put him in the middle of the turntable so it can hold onto the pole in the center!

I second Binnie. Tell me, with all honesty, that you didn't at least smiled reading DT's post.

Hamster holding on to the pole in the center of the turntable spinning 'round and 'round... classic!

Cheers! :bottle:

I'm still getting a kick out of imagining the hampsters "ALL systems go!" nod! now that I think about it he might have been nodding to be put back in the cage!

The hamster spinning round and round can be cute but I would have to make sure that it doesn't get hurt (or too dizzy), otherwise I really find it sad!

But that's just me... I am pretty sensitive, when it comes to stuff like that.

Boys will be boys...
Every single guy I know went through that; using a cat as a football, stepping on frogs, getting them to smoke a cigarette, booze for dogs etc...

I was always the little girl who screamed "noooo... don't do that" and ran away...

I should have been a Buddust!

I'd be too paranoid that the hamster would go flying off and end up hurt.

I admitt, I torture my cat, every once in a while...

I grab her, force to stay on me and kiss her face until she meows, begging for me to let go... but I don't until I have cuddled enough...

Then, she runs away and hides from me! :o

You have no idea how I understand you... although I laugh my arse off at these ideas, I could never understand cruelty towards animals. Hell, I'm far from violent - I never got into a fight my whole life - but I once threatened to punch a guy in the mouth for kicking a dog. Luckily, as I'm not a small guy and have a grate poker face, the other dude decided not to take any chances and walked away...

Sadistic thoughts do no harm... unlike sadistic actions.

That said, hamsters DO have the most stupid deaths - mostly when their owners aren't watching them. So it's hard not to consider a hamster death, no matter how bizarre and over-the-top, as "natural dying causes".

Cheers! :bottle:

The funniest thing hamsters do is run really fast in their wheels and then stop and go around and around. It's hilarious watching them in the pet store.

I knew a family (out in the country) that always had a couple house cats...

Whenever a cat would give birth to a bunch of kittens, the father would put them in a bag and either knock them (repeatedly) to death on the house or drown them in the lake...

I hated that man so much, I was wishing he would die!

It never occured to that idiot that he could have just neutered those female cats or simply just own the males, if he didn't want any kitten!

Now that I remember him... I think he was really getting off on that cruelty...

That's some twisted, sick shit man. I hate cats and hunt things with arrows and bullets but holy hell, that is in the land of psycoville for sure.

I had a pet hamster who got decapitated from tryin' to enter a wheel in full speed... and I believe the mother started eating her babies.

It was like THE TEXAS HAMSTERSAW MASSACRE!!!

I had a hampster escape one time. I don't know why he wanted to run away! i thought I was providing a very adventurous life for the lil fella! Well months later while helping my dad clean the garage he was found nesting under a cabinet. Only now he was very angry ... standing on his hind legs hissing at us! Poor thang done turned rabid on me! We left him alone ... probably ended up a snakes dinner!
