Once translated from Dave talk into English, it does seem he is working with the boys again.

He talks about if they can get along backstage, and also during performances.

Still nothing official though.

Or at least pay his respects!

No confirmation...yet.

He was acting cagey during that interview too.

There's nothing signed yet is my hunch.

Thanks JJ, since the other guy forgot how to include a short-cut.

Wish they would have asked him about Mikey

NYC is pretty far from the 5150 studio.

Or maybe they are recording somewhere else?

Yeah...Ed would agree to that...

Dave's way of saying "Nothing's set in stone", I think...

But, as usual, he's right on every count...

I fail to understand why they'd want to record anything, anyway. They're strapped with Sabbath's problem - anything the classic lineup records is going to be compared to the original studio material, and probably not come out in a positive light, either.

I mean, seriously, ain't one of them in their heyday anymore...

IF, and I do mean IF they're together, they're better off avoiding the studio altogether and just touring on the strength of the six pack.

Well, I think it's a given that we ALL do...I'm just worried that they'd record a new album that just simply isn't up to snuff because Ed's too washed out...hearing people say "Wow! Ed's back!" doesn't reassure me any...that was being said in 2004...

Wolfgang's an X factor in the studio, also...

And given enough time to dick around in the studio, odds get better and better that the whole thing falls apart before it gets anywhere, 2000 proved that...

You know, I could, in theory, see it surviving that long if Ed, Al and Wolf laid down the music and sent tapes to Dave...Dave wrote the lyrics, patched up some of the music with a few tapes of his own, went in and sang the shit away from the sisters and junior...

I'm concerned that with the four of them being in the studio together, at the same time, it's going to be three Van Halens too many...

It's not like vocals couldn't be recorded in entirely different studios. Of course that would either require a lot of FedExing back and forth or one Hell of a broadband connection to send tracks digitally back and forth.

Supposedly Hagar did all the vocals for "Balance" in San Francisco to keep him and Eddie from killing each other in the studio, so it's not as though Eddie hasn't worked like that before.

But if I had my way, I would LOCK Dave & Ed in one studio and not let them out until they had an album. If there's tension, if they want to kill each other, fucking great. Take that energy and put it into the guitar, Eddie. Into the lyrics, Dave. Into the drums, Alex. Shred that bass, uhhhhh whomever.

If they can't be bothered to do an entire album, just finish the songs that were started in 2000 and put the damn box set together already.

If VAN ROTH hits the road for a "Tour 2007" - weez betta hit the FIRST CONCERT....before the Jerry Springer Brawl hits.

We may even find a few celebrities and wanna-be's in the audience....Kenny Chesney, Ron Jeremy (?), Ed's girlfriend and her Porn poppers.

ROTHARMY MILITIA to support the cause!

Bang on the money BB.

I'd like top think that they've got 12 or 13 Me Wise Magics demoed in a basement somewhere, but it's hard to REALLY think so...

Broadband??? Hardly! They use OC3-12...dedicated lines. Takes seconds. Lucas, Speilberg and Gates have them in their homes!

As for the rest of the post..yeah...lock them up...feed the copious amounts of booze and BBQ...mic the entire room...give all of the tapes to Ted Templeton...take it to the road!
