    korn

Since bringing up my 7 string lute thread in Gear Street, I guess I thought about Korn.

Got into the first 3 albums, then lost track of them. Are they still a group?

Are you secretly cheating with one of your spouses family members and want to confess it on the Maury show?

I did see something that blew my mind....for some strange and twisted reason known only to himself, it seems word is out that Terry Bozzio is gonna play drums for them for a studio album followed by a tour.

It was on Blabbermouth the other day.

              From Merriam-Webster Dictionary...

              Main Entry: Korn
              Pronunciation: 'korn
              Function: noun
              Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English; akin to Old High German & Old Norse korn grain, Latin granum

1 : the only recognizable element in a bowel movement

              2 : a shitty American band

3 : the seeds of a cereal grass and especially of the important cereal crop of a particular region (as wheat in Britain, oats in Scotland and Ireland, and Indian corn in the New World and Australia) b : the kernels of sweet corn served as a vegetable while still soft and milky

One is busy playing Jesus. One is busy getting sloppy seconds (and thirds...and forths) from his porn star wife. Another is still learning to play his bass. That's about the only notable things Korn has done lately.

If you were to play those shitty songs in standard tuning they'd sound like a 12 year old wrote them. As heavy as Poison , at best....

Posers from the past.........aren't they pretty!?

                  Brian "Head" Welch

Frank Zappa dug Terry Bozzio enough to hire him along with The Brecker Brothers, Robbie Robertson, Jeff Beck, and Herbie Hancock, just to name a few. Korn isn't worth his time.

Ok, first Korn record was something different. I always thought of it as "sloppy" metal, lacking the intnesity of real heavy-shit.

That being said, it was ike nothing I'd ever heard before and Jonathon's vocals were full of emotion.

However, ever since then they've written the same song over and over.

Soft verse, heavy chorus, soft verse, heavy chorus, funny mid section, soft verse, heavy chorus, soft versem heavy chrous.

So to my ears, what potential they had quickly disappeared.

Apparently however, on the last two records they've done they have both diversified and beefed-up their sound, but I haven't heard them so I can't comment....
