Arizona has taken steps in the right direction...
Besides..did you ever think you would see the day the Saints were one game away?

The Cardinals should make it within the next 10 years or so....

True, and no I didn't. The Saints franchise was as dismal as the Lions and Cards before this season, so there is hope yet for the two franchises.

Another question...who will make it first? Cards or Lions? I personally think the Cards are alot closer than the Lions at this point. Before the Lions are going to go anywhere, they MUST get rid of Millen first. The Cards have a good collection of talent on offense, and with a few more pieces here and there, and the right coach, they could be contenders before too long.

The cardinals? Don't know...don't care.

The lions? I'm 41 years old and doubt I will live longh enough to ever see the lions GO to the Super Bowl, much less win one.

If ONLY ford would sell the team to an owner that actuallly CARED.

No they won't until they do what any good team does...draft linemen. Neither one of those teams will win until they have an offensive and defensive line that is at least servicable. To be a good NFL team you must start there because it doesn't matter who the QB, RB, or WRs are. Same goes for CB, LB, etc.

The Cards before the Lions ... when who knows ... but the Lions are light years.

I remember this wise man telling me...aboot 20+ years ago....

"The DETROIT LIONS will not win the SUPER BOWL until William Clay Ford sells the team..."

Who would have guessed he was a prophet?!?;)

I'm sure he's in heaven...looking down & laughing at the LIONS at this very moment.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE CARDINALS WIN ONE IN MY LIFETIME.
DETROIT HAS ALREADY WON A SUPERBOWL BEFORE.

Huh? Detroit won a few NFL Championships decades ago before there were Super Bowls, but they have never even been to a Super Bowl.

He means the City of Detroit has won a Superbowl game before. As in the game to be played in Detroit. I guess.

I just looked it up. i stand corrected, detroit has never been in the superbowl, and neither has the cardinals, however both franchises do have championship trophies from winning the old NFL championship
title game in the distant past.neither team has won the big one in over 50 years.

Detroit lions last won in 1957
The Cardinals last won in 1947, and back then they were the Chicago Cardinals. They had a very heated rivalry with Da Bears back then, before they moved to St. Louis, Then To Arizona, First toTempe, and now in Glendale

Cardinals will go way before the Lions. The Cardinals owners seem to have taken the right steps in hiring Whisenhunt and he has hired some great coaches to help him. I hated to see both he and Grimm leave Pittsburgh but I understand why and I don't think the Steelers organization did right by either one of them. that's just my opinion.

With Leinart starting now, the Cardinals should start to improve dramatically over the next few seasons. Doubt they'll win a Super Bowl though.

As a Jets fan there are few franchises I can poke fun at. That said I think there is a strong case that the Cardinals are the worst franchise in football. If my memory serves me correctly they may be the oldest franchise and they have 2 championships. I think the Don Coryell years in the 70's were there best shot since the 40's (and they got dick-whipped in their couple of playoff appearances). I think their last playoff appearance was in the strike year "tournament" when like 16 teams got in. Fuck Bidwell too, what an ass.

They've certainly got a decent chance...

Boldin's condition is huge, as is their ability to run the ball....

Too bad this isn't the late game, I think the scoring will be more exciting than the later defensive game..

not dogging the stillers, I think the ravens will make a boring offensive
game, in fact i think baltimore will be blown out.

Interesting to see this now, I guess I'd rather see the Cards than the Eagles.

They just might. Right as I wrote that the Cards intercepted McFlabb, then coughed it back up. :D

I can't believe they are schooling the Eagles.

offense either, you shall see soon enough..

Sad thing is 2 years ago when this question was asked, I was a borderline Cards fan..Dallas had pissed me off with the whole Owens fiasco..I cant jump on the bandwagon now.

Nor the Eagles higher scoring offense, which i think is better than Pitt..
Philly was # 3 Defense, not too slouchy eh?
i think your overlooking/calling a blowout too soon bubba..i think you guys have a game on your hands & you guys dont wanna accept that just yet.

I think the only team that could keep up would be NE with brady, IMO
they are Real hot, i dont see them slowing down unless you guys take
warner out like philly tried to do..

I said a couple years ago, in this same thread, that the Cards would improve dramatically. Problem is, I said it would be with Leinart at the helm. LOL Hats off to Kurt Warner.

That would be a hell of a way to retire for him..on top of the big dance, now
they have to win it is the real challenge. I see the steelers coming with a
shitload of hurt, he hopefully doesn't get the snot kicked outta him, if
he survives that, i really see a great game forthcoming.

Like I said, it's not outlandish at all to foresee that...

Poj will tell you, I think Ike Taylor is the most overrated CB in the NFL... He's a sucker for the double-move, and I see Fitzgerald possibly burning him at least once...

So I'll just say this.... If Warner can hit a few deep balls for TD and get some interference calls like Flacco got, they can win the game....

Now I'll also say this.... Dick Lebeau is not going to let that happen.... They'll probably keep the middle of the field open so the tight end can catch 10 balls for 100 yards, but no TD's....
