Zlozower VH picture book coming this summer

Hey y'all. I hope everyone had a happy holidays and safe new year's. Seems VH has been in the news a lot lately, huh? Wolfie's on bass, EVH was at NAMM 2007 as well as on the cover of the recent Guitar World, the band just got inducted into the RNRHOF, and of course there's a very possible reunion tour going down this summer.

Well here's one more positive VH-related item to add to the list. After all these years legendary rock photog Neil Zlozower has FINALLY completed his VH picture book. Drum roll please... the book will of course be entirely dedicated to the CLASSIC VAN HALEN ERA!!!

Zloz provided the cover for 101 and for the time I've known him he's always been cool with me. When he called me up a few weeks back and mentioned the book was finally completed and ready to go, I couldn't be any happier or more excited for the guy... as well as for the fans... So I figured I'd make a quick post to break the news and help get the word out.

While I'm certain I don't have to tell anyone here who Zloz is, for the few people who may not know, I'll just say this. Anyone with a camera can snap a picture... but Zloz is a true ARTIST. Big difference. No doubt this book is gonna kick some major ass.

Out of respect for ZLOZster I'm not gonna start scanning his book. There's a few pictures that are truly classic! If you have the book, and you should, check out the third page into 1980 ... a set of negatives. See 4A? DAVE ... looking almost like Joe Elliot? And what's with the boots? Some of his wardrobe is a bit odd but he usually makes it work! And, give me a break, I mean that in a non gay way! But there's some pics here I'm sure he even said WTF 'cuz he never went that way again! You see it's not circled for use! That is DAVE 'cuz I seen him in that shirt before!? He's slouching his shoulders!

I LOVE the book. The best thing about it is all the quotes from artists and others who saw VH in the early days. Cool stuff that at times seriously brought tears to my eyes.
