The impossible may not be so impossible anymore. Maybe they'll release a DVD box set or something.

One can hope that logic can cut through the fog in Eddie's brain.

I know there is also some pro-shot of 1984 out there that I would like to see. Van Halen gets off on starving their fans. Just see their website.

I'd be happy to see it...but I think I'd be happier yet to see a compilation pro-shot two or three DVD live era between '78 and '84 of various performances covering the entire span...

I agree, but i bet those 3 oakland vids will be used.
Anything extera from oakland? Heres hoping.

I would love to see their history given the same attentiion to detail as the Led Zep 2xDVD set.

here's hoping that this is the way to go.

I think ed has woken up to the fact that they cannot keep their greatest moments locked away in a box & that they should celebrated asap!

We can only hope for a Box Set!!!
I've had the US Festival for about 5 years.

They need to release something ala Rush Replay X 3 or Kissology with like 3-4 shows in one set. My personal picks would be Fresno '79, Oakland '81, US Festival '83, and anything they can dig up from 1984 that's pro shot.

Maybe Val will hit him with a huge alimony/support bill and he'll need quick cash!

I wonder if they filmed the wholes show for the live sequences in the Panama video?

The US festival isn't what I'd want released. We've seen it 1,000 times. The aud/vid could be better, but I want something different. Oakland '81 entire show & a 1984 show.

AND SOME NEW MUSIC PLEASE!

I only mentioned the US Festival because I don't own it yet and would like to enjoy it on my TV screen instead of my computer for once.

I like the Largo MD 1982 better than the US fest or South American shows for DIver Down era. I believe that was still when they were recording shows for a live album and it does seem that Dave is focusing on his vocals more than other shows -- too bad Eddie broke his hand and they bagged that idea.

No common sense permeates 5150, for sure. Cos if they are thinking of this as "winding it down" or "closure", then this stuff needs to be released when they are hot and in the news, on tour, and going in the Hall of Fame. They would make a lot more money if it came out when people are actually excited about the band.

Do you know why Eddie broke his hand?!?!?! He supposedly took a swing at Dave backstage and Dave dunked and Ed hit the wall.

I always assumed there was an incident behind it, but had not heard that specific story.

I dont think of anybody in that band as a bad-ass fighter, but I think I would pick a fight with Ed or Mikey before I would take a swing at Dave or Alex. They both seem like pretty angry people sometimes, and those are the best fighters!

Though admittedly, Alex and Ed are always on the sauce, so they probably dont feel any pain when you punch them!

Ed was pissed at Dave becuase he found out he was screwing around with Alex's fiancee'. Ed saw Dave backstage and took Dave to the locker room area to talk to him about it. Ed probably hit one of those tile walls.

Well, if Eddie is up for reproducing Franky and touring with Roth, then it stands to reason he shouldn't feel wary of further embracing his past and putting out a CVH video/audio box set (and I stress CVH - there is plenty of authorized Van Hagar live video and audio out there already)...

Especially considering there will be no new CVH music forthcoming. If you're gonna DO a nostalgia trip, you might as well go for broke, open those vaults and get all of that stuff out there.

Are you positive about that -- cos that was Oct 1982 when the hand was broken and I was under the impression that Al didnt get married to that chick until 1983 -- and found out about the affair a few weeks after the wedding......I know Kerrang didnt report that story until 1984.

I mean, I wouldnt be surprised if Ed took a swing at Dave in 82 -- just wasnt sure if the timing was right that the Al-Dave thing was the reason.

Not as long as they're doing reunion tours, laughing all the way to the bank.

MTV has it stored away somewhere where the film is going bad.

Truly a shame !

First saw them in 1980! AWESOME SHOWS! SAw them twice, they had a foreign film maker with the tour to shoot documentary and live for a movie like zep's "song"or who's "kids are alright" I would pay dearly for this if necessary!!
